POYHO~ This Helps How?

Image
What do you do when the school year starts off bad?  What do you when your child is being is targeted by a so called friend on a daily basis? What do you do when despite emails and meetings your child has taken matters into their hands?

Middle is school is brutal? How about the fourth grade? This has been the first two months of fourth grade for my son. A rotten turd child (yes I will call him that) has been picking on Ryan since school started. If that wasn't enough, a so called friend of his has joined this boy in this terrible treatment. Now when a random kid picks on a kid it is bullying. When a "friend" does it, I call this abuse. Certainly a nine year old doesn't realize he is abusing his friend, but let's face it, it is in fact abuse. These boys relish and delight in teasing and harassing Ryan for anything their simple minds can come up with, which at  nine is limited. However, when you are nine as well feelings can be hurt easily. Unfortunately this is wh…

Ten Things That Made Me Smile: May

Image
It is time to reflect on what made me smile in the month of May, so I am linking up with my bestie Emmy to tell you all about it.  Ready?  Here we go.
1.  Free Comic Book Day because we dressed up and had fun...

2.  We did Relay For Life on that same day...part of it in costume...part of it as normal human beings.

Those Firemen though!
3.   There were several kids little and not so little who wanted hugs and pictures with Kristin and Emily on Free Comic Book Day.  I am shooting for dressing them as Queen Elsa (Kristin) and Ana(Emily) for Halloween.  OMG how cute would they be???  And they would be followed by all the little girls!!  Soooo cute.  Me?  Ummm....Marshmallow the big mean snowman.  Hahaha.
4.  I get some of the strangest followers for things I tweet?  So, come on Tom Hiddleston...follow me already!  Seriously though, I have DisneyFrozen following me, KidsTalent, A life coach, just to name a few.
5.  We saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier....twice.  Oh you need to see t…

I Know I'm Crazy, It's Okay...

Image
How many of you know that first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day?  Don't feel bad if you don't because I didn't know for years.  Then when my son was about 5 we went for the first time and it was a blast.  I had no idea what to expect.  They had charcters there.  Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Spider-Man, Robin, just to name a few.  Plus the pizza place next door was really smart and did a special offer that day for the patron's of the comic book store.  Then, the next year we went again and it was more fun.  Well last year, started a new tradition with Kristin cosplaying as The Joker.  (Heath Ledger's).

You can guess which one is her.
She was a major hit last year.  She even got a pic with Batman.  This was like a dream come true for her.  Then it got ten times better when Batman asked if she would pose with his daughter who was dressed up like Batgirl!
So this year she did it again, and so did Emily...and so did I!  Yup.  Me.
Kristin and Emily were Jack…

Ten Things To Smile About...

Image
I've got ten things that made me smile this month, and I went and forgot!  So now that I remembered....I am linking up with my bestie Emmy!
1.   We went and saw Captain America:  The Winter Soldier.  You know...I blame you for all of this Emmy.  I was fine until I saw Thor and The Avengers.  Yep, it's all your fault.
2.  There was also Easter....it was nice.  We have interesting eggs...
3.  We took family pictures (twice actually) and got some nice pictures

4.   I have lost 14 pounds..it's a tough battle...especially when you like food.
5.  Speaking of food, I may or may not have had pie at Marie Callander's, and piece of said pie may or may not have fallen off my fork and into my shirt....INTO.  That was a sight...maybe.
6.   I recently referred to myself as a misfit on FB.  I am fine with that.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  I like who I am:  A misfit.  :)
7.  Speaking of being a misfit...I recently was browsing in HOT TOPIC....have you ever been there?  I…

I'm Fierce

Image
Fierce?
If you don't have a teenager then let me enlighten you that taking a selfie with your fingers poised just so stands for "fierce."  Make me laugh....OUT LOUD!  First of all do they even know the definition of the word itself...here's a couple for your reading pleasure.
1. menacinglywild,savage,orhostile:fierceanimals;afiercelook.
2.  violentinforce, intensity,etc.:fiercewinds.
Do they really believe they are these things?  Do they think they are conveying this message?  They don't know fierce.  I would like to line them up and smack them ask them if they ever cleaned up someone else's barf, been peed on, cleaned up poop or wiped a booger off their arm that wasn't theirs.  That's fierce right there.  Have they ever gone to head to head with another parent defending their young?  That can get ugly.  Still, I think the most fiercesome thing I came up with besides the gross stuff and turning into a Mama Bear, was this:  Would they lay down their lif…

Friday Five: It's Been a Bad Week

Image
It's time for Friday Five with Emmy!  It's been quite a week...are you ready....?
1.  Do you have one of those weeks?  Yep.  Me too.  I am glad it is almost over.  It came in like a lion.  I sure hope it goes out like a lamb!  Sheesh.
2.  One thing that happened was that a high school kid had a stroke of brilliance stupidity and on an app called "YIKYAK" which is anonymous, has no usernames, and has GPS in it(great right) this student made a threat to shoot up the school...oh did I mention that this was at MY KID's SCHOOL!  yeah!  It's been a bad week.  Nothing happened.  Security was up twice as much.  Cops were crawling all over the place.  But yeah...it was bad.  For more info about YIKYAK you can go here and here.
3.  I saw a fox yesterday...no I wasn't at the zoo.  It ran out across the street.  Pretty little thing.
4.  Kristin and I have a new insult thanks to dear Mr. Shakespeare.  "egg."  Yep, that's it.  "egg."  Just like th…

Why Theatre IS a Sport

Image
During the last three years she has been dragged, chased, a boy, a fangirl, an elf, a zombie, and through it all almost no room socializing or even time to raise money for Girl's Camp.   Why do I think know that drama is a sport to be rivaled with actual sports...well sit down and let me tell you a story or two...
Sometimes when people ask me about my oldest and her ambitions about drama, I often get, "Oh." Like "That's nice, but what does she do when she isn't playing?"  I am not one to offend easily, really I am not.  Tell me a blonde joke, go ahead.  I love them.  I am queen of them.  I often mock my own blonde moments.
However, when theatre gets tossed off as play time it ruffles my feathers.  Let's start with that dragging I mentioned earlier shall we...

That was a lot of time and effort taken to make sure those girls were not hurt in the process of dragging them down in the pit.  Then there are the countless hours she spends learning new da…

Five Things

Image
I can easily come up with five things to write about as I am a lover of words.  However, to post five photos every week is a huge challenge for me.  My kids do not let me take their picture.  I have to be very sneaky.  I can only take so many pictures of the cats.  I find instead, that I collect pictures that people post(no I am not creeper I am not collecting children!)  I collect scenic views, quotes and so on.  Occsionally I take a selfie, a picture of a kid, but mostly...it's hard.  That being said...

1.  The one thing we did over Spring break was see Captain America:  The Winter Soldier.  Go see it.  It's very good, intense, and of course because it is Marvel has its funny moments too.  Plus as you know stay for all the credits.  ;)

2.  As a member of The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints, my family and I watched General Conference this past weekend.

3.  A water main broke about 2 miles from our house.  Unfortunately this deeply affected the route to school.…

The Pirate Fairy

Image
It's Friday!!  The Weekend!  The end of Spring Break...wait what?

1.  It's the end of Spring break.   It's a mixed bad.  I didn't get to sleep in everyday.  In fact, I hardly slept in any days.  I did enjoy the stress free mornings of not having to rush everyone around.  What a drag.  What I won't miss...everything MINE CRAFT.  If you don't have a kid between 7 and 12 consider yourself lucky.

2.  Captain America: The Winter Soldier...still trying to figure out when we are going to see this movie.  So excited about it.

3.  The Pirate Fairy.  Yes, I totally bought it because Tom Hiddleston is James Hook.  However, the movie is adorable.  It has all kinds of Peter Pan references and I laughed so much.  And just so you know Hook is a COD FISH!  He's a meanie butt!  I reccommend this movie to anyone.

4.  "Life is what happens when your busy making other plans."  Do you know who said that?  Put your thinking caps on.  I love this expression especially …

Who Am I?

Image
I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Who I am and who I aspire to be...let's get the obvious out of the way.  Wife.  Mother.  Yes, yes...I am those things.  I am proud to be those things.  I would not be a mother of three of the most beautiful, intelligent, ridiculous, fun beings I have the pleasure of knowing if it weren't for being a wife.  This is part of who I am.  I would not have children without a partner.  Why?  Because I am a Christian.  Yep.  I am.  Not only am I a Christian, but get this, I am a member of The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Yep.  I am very  slightly unconventional at times with my love for all things geeky, but I stand by my morals, and everything I am taught.

I am taught this:  to love my neighbor (yeah even the ones who wrong me...that's hard!)  But I am also taught to love everyone.  Everyone.  Guess what?  I do love all people.  Their race, religion, gender are not a deciding factor for me.  Lifestyle?  What was it…

Friday Friday

Image
Hey, I am really exicted this week, because not only am I linking up with my bestie but I am also hosting with her.  If you check out Emmy's blog you will see the questions she asked me.  Otherwise you will never know what my favorite super power would be.

1.  Spring break started off with a bang.  Ryan got sick...like real sick.  He was fine and them BAM!  He spiked a fever and went down.  He counted each time he threw up...I'm not talking episode, I'm talking every. single. time.  It was TEN!  Poor baby.
2.  We watched THOR the Dark World.  His choice.  What?  He has to twist my arm?
3.  I'm taking a history class now, and my final report is going to be on women in history.  I am super excited about it.  We rock.  It started with EVE!
4.  I have lost 8. 6 pounds.  it has not been easy, but now people are noticing.  I better keep it up!
5.  Is anyone going to see Captian America: The Winter Soldier?  I am looking forward to it.  When did I become such a geek anyway?
Rya…
