Proud Mommy Moments

Now that the holiday's are officially over and the stores have piled everything into a corner with their 75% off sign, EmmyMom and KMama are back with their weekly meme:  Proud Mommy Moments!

In our church, the children ages 3-11 go to Primary.  This year our kids learned and studied scriptures.  As they did, they created a chain.  And this chain grew and grew and grew.  It was huge!
And here they all are at the end of the year holding the chain, each link representing the scriptures they learned and committed to memory.  Isn't that awesome?  And what mother wouldn't be proud?  Look at all those wonderful faces?  Hmmm....let's find Emily....
Awww....isn't she's find Ryan....shall we.....
Yep!  There he is!  My son!

What are your proud moments?

Ten Things To Smile About Dec

It is time to link up with EmmyMom and list just ten things that made me smile in the month of December!  So here we go....

1.  Kristin had her first Choir concert.  It was very good.  I enjoyed it.  And their school is the only one in the district to have a full orchestra!

2.  Taking Ryan and Emily Christmas shopping at the dollar tree for their sister and Dad because it was so important to them.

3.  Emily building a Nativity set with her pet shops and a little tent.

4.  Seeing Ryan climb right up into Santa's lap for the first time this year.
5.  Getting my craft on...for the first time in ages!!!! And doing quite well.

6.  A snowball fight in a can!  More info and pics on that to come!

7.    Christmas
Watching my kids is my favorite part!

8.  A Santa baby!
9.  Seeing my BFF again!

10.  Co-hosting the Review Extravaganza!  It was a blast!

Resolutions vs. Promises

Resolution by definition is:
to come to a definite or earnest decision about; determine (to do something): I have resolved that I shall live to the full.
Another definition is:  to separate into constituent or elementary parts; break up; cause or disintegrate to separate into constituent or elementary parts; break up; cause or disintegrate.
It's the second one that I love.  "Break up or disintegrate." It was during the Review Extravaganza where I read a fellow bloggers post about "promises" she made.  She decided resolutions were not the way to go.  So she went with promises instead.

a declaration that something will or will not be done, given, etc., by one: unkept political promises.
She managed to keep most if not all of her promises.  I was most impressed by this.  And then I was impressed by the thought of promising to do something.  My mother raised me that a promise is a promise.  If you are not able to do it, don't promise.  I have done the same with my own kids.  They know if I can't promise I won't.  So this year, I am not resolving anything.  Instead I am promising.
1.  I promise to move more
2.  I promise to improve my good eating habits
3.  I promise to lose weight gained
4.  I promise to be a better money manager
5.  I promise to be more creative(pinterest here I come!)
What are you going to promise yourself this year?
