Proud Mommy Moments

Santa is watching so these kids have to be on their best behavior.   Here's what has been going on with the CA kids.... Kristin: Has a 3.0 GPA!  She sweated for this one.  And we couldn't be prouder.  Not only that, but....drum roll please.... she stepped far out of her comfort zone and auditioned for the musical.  We will not know if she has been cast until Friday.  And if not, she is going to try out for ensemble.  I love her courage.  She has really grown! Emily: She blows me away sometimes.  Each night this week, she has sat quietly and done her homework.  All of it.  Wow.  She is not a homework kid.  We fight it.  It's a horrible battle with tears, yelling and bribery.  It's ugly.  So to see her sit and just do it is awesome.  Not only that, she showed her sweeter side yesterday and this morning.  She wanted to make sure her sister got some of the cookies I bought--they got eaten up and gone in one day.  She also wanted to make sure Ryan was okay--he had

Signs of a Weak Mind

My mind is weak.  People might mistake my weak brain for that of stupidity.  So clear up any confusion of stupidity and weakness, you need to go and see this link. ...embedding has been disabled.  Boo.  But go see it.  It's fun.  I will wait. Now that we are clear as to what is stupid....let me tell you what are some signs of a weak mind..... Hearing a loved ones ring tone in the early morning, waking you up.  Only to realize that your phone was on silent, and said loved one didn't even butt dial you.  You know this because you texted them and asked. Trying to put your oatmeal in the fridge to heat it up--as if it were the microwave. Saying "breakfast" when you mean "dinner" trying again only to say "lunch" and finally giving up and saying "food" because it is food after all! paying a bill twice forgetting when a bill is due Hearing a request from a child--like 25 times--and still forgetting to follow through with it. Tis the Season

Tis the season of Christmas specials.  I love them.  Of course I do.  I grew up with them.  I looked forward each season to seeing them.  And sure you can buy them on DVD and enjoy them any time you time you want, but really where is the fun in that???  It's more fun to anticipate and wait for it to be on.  Tonight, the Peanuts gang is on to teach us the true meaning of Christmas.  I love this one, because it really does.  It's not about presents.  It's not about lights and Santa.  It's about the birth of our Savoir.  Ironically, it was the creator's least favorite special.  He said the animation was poor.  But everyone loves it most.   The message is simple and true.  Of course I enjoy the lighter and more child-like specials as well:  Rudolph.  (It's already been on!)  Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.  It's been on but will be on again on ABC Family.  I like some of the newer ones too:  Prep and Landing and Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.  B
