A Letter of Concern...

To Whom it May Concern:

Have you ever felt this way?  I am feeling this way today.  No, maybe it's been building up.  I am not sure.  Just one of those times where you have to what is the expression...put your big girl panties on deal with it! 

But man sometimes I just want to forget about it.  Lay low for a while....

Of course I would need lots of supplies....

A girl has to have chocolate....

And I have to have my Diet Coke.  

It's all good.  I will snap back.  Don't we always.  Especially when there is chocolate in the world.  ;)

Proud Mommy Moments...

I wouldn't call this one a Proud Mommy Moment, but I really hate being left out!!!  So I am playing anyway.  This is just one of those moments in time that tickle me.  As your kids age their schedules get bigger and your life is really not yours. 

Emily's life is still pretty simple.  School mostly.  But she also has Activity Days twice a month.  This is for the girls ages 8-11 in our church.  They meet every other week for an activity and spiritual lesson.  She is really blossoming with this.  It's great.

Kristin....oh my Kristin...well for her life...you can read an article I wrote all about her here.  Well yesterday she was not going to be home until after 6:30.  Emily was home around 6 and I had to pick up Rich and Kristin....so that left me and Ryan eating dinner alone. 

Ryan said, "We are having a private dinner." sometimes that kid melts my heart.

Grab the Party Hats

It's Tuesday and that means it is time to be random.  I am all about random. 

I watched the new show on ABC called GCB....it stands for Good Christian B*tches.  Well, apparently, this offended some for real good Christian b*tches when the full title was said in commercials.  *eye roll*  So now they simply say GCB.  Whatever.  It's a step further than DH.  I enjoyed it. 

I have a leak.  I am not sure what the issue is.  It is definitely coming from my tub though.  And the leak is going into my garage.  It's not good.  And once again I am brought to this quote from John Lennon, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."  So true.

Kristin told me something funny, and now I get to tell you.  She was half asleep.  Turning off her alarm.  She said, "I don't know if I dreamt it or said it for real, but I remember saying, 'grab the party hats!' "  Hahahaha.  I said, "That's awesome!"  and of course I had to put it in my blog. 

I made friends on Facebook over the Monkee Marathon weekend.  How fun is that? 

I think I will make cookies today.  I am out of treats.  They might last until tomorrow.

Did You Know...

Did you know that I am a huge fan of The Monkees?  As in I had a shrine in my room.  I am too young to be a first generation fan.  I wasn't even born yet for heaven sake!  I am a second generation fan.  I got hooked in when MTV ran a marathon one weekend.  It's possible "the guys" as we fans affectionately called them, hosted the marathon.  I just remember getting hooked.  I also remember first being attracted to the little English short one...aka..Davy Jones...

I actually love them all!  I have seen them in concert six different times.  I have met Micky, Davy and Peter.  And Mike I have seen at a distance.  Does that count?  I ran a fan club with a good friend of mine.  Not only did I attend concerts, I also went to conventions, I saw them receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!  We are still waiting for their place in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!  So last week, when I received this text...

I was sad and shocked.  I cried.  I listened to Monkees music all day.  And the funny thing is...one of my very favorite songs not even sung by Davy, made me cry.  Silly but true.  I said to my mom it felt silly to be sad.  She told me a great truth.  We get to know these people and feel like they are our friends.  It's true.  And nobody made jokes or picked on me.  Quite the opposite.  I received texts of support and love to make sure I was okay. 

Over the weekend, Antenna TV ran 24 hours of The Monkees plus their movie.  I had total control of the TV.  My son wasn't too happy with me, but he survived.  It brought back many happy memories.  And that is exactly the way it should be!!
