I am doing a double link up today because I am so "proud" that I had to call it, "Good News!" I am linking up with EmmyMom, KMama, and Grumpy Grateful Mom.
Before I launch into the good stuff, let me say if you looked up "stubborn" in the dictionary you would see this face:
That being said, this obstinate child is the source of my good news and proud mommy moment! She made honor roll! This is something she has been wanting to do since her big sister did it. We are all very proud of her.
Look at that grin!
Big sis came for the assembly.
What is your good news? Is it a proud Mommy moment?
If you remember yesterday's post, you remember that I said I had a meeting with Emily's IEP teacher. My morning was busy as usual. I got everyone where they needed to be. I came home and read a few blogs before heading out to my appointment. I even had time to put on make up! I know, right!
I was driving along just as nice as can be and after I turned a corner, I heard it. The sound that only a flat tire can make. At first I thought maybe I drifted onto the line and was hitting reflectors. Nope. Steady as she goes. Nobody was honking wildly at me to get my attention. I turned down the next street and pulled over as soon as I could.
I could literally hear the air hissing out. It is good I pulled over. I think I prevented a full blow out. I thought that was a big ginormous screw. After making some phone calls, and getting my nephew there. He told me otherwise...
A spark plug! I kept that bad boy. It's my trophy. I am even trying to think of something artsy fartsy to do with it. There is a story there! My husband has a spark plug on plaque. There is a story there too. But this is my story. *ahem*
See the hole? My nephew said when the car was jacked up, he could actually hear the air being pushed back IN. He tried to get me to hear it. Sorry kid. My ears don't work that great anymore. I will take your word for it! That is a big hole! This not going to be fixable. Ever wonder what $191.11 looks like? Wonder no more....I will show you...
There you go. For your viewing pleasure. Some good did come out of all of this. It just so happened that our CA return came in yesterday. It's pretty much gone now. However, without it we would have been up s**t creek. My nephew was off from work and Rich didn't have to worry about me. I was taken care of. Oh and I got new shoes...
OH I WISH!!!!!! I only drooled over these. Aren't they yummy??? Found them at Kohl's. They were actually comfy. Who knew. And in my size. Yes! But no, I didn't buy these. I bought tennis shoes. Okay they are called toning shoes. They are sooo comfy when I walk. And not super ugly. Kind of cute. Grey with hot pink highlights. I bought pink cheetah print shoelaces for them. So it wasn't all bad. Plus the weather was gorgeous.
I forget stuff all the time. It's bad. Seriously. Just Monday, I forgot to pack Kristin's lunch. Sure she can do it. But again, I forget to tell her to do it. In my foggy sleepy headedness (it's a word) I told her to make a lunch. She is up before the sun folks! She did. She lived. But man I felt bad. I forget stuff all the time. Large and small. My mind is weak, and blond. I'm screwed.
My bed holds me captive. It's true. Every morning I struggle to get out, and every morning it holds me down. It entices me with its warmth and softness.
News anchors are a pain in the butt. And so predictable. It rained a bit on Saturday, and all day yesterday. It was cold too. For us anyway. As predicted(by me, and by anyone with a pulse), the news anchor turned to the weatherman....errr excuse me....METEOROLOGIST and said, "When is the rain going to stop?" Stop? Stop? Really? It rained for 12 hours. If that. Go live in Oregon or Seattle you wimp! And when the sun is out and we get that glorious warmth where haters hate...they will say, "When are we getting some rain?"
In addition to craziness and people with weather. Yes it is cold. But man Californians are wimpy. I saw people in parkas today. My kids had gloves on yes, but hoodies. They were fine. It's 45 degrees. That is pretty cold out. But worthy of parka....not really.
Ryan has a blue blanket. My mom gave it to him when he was baby. It is satin-y on one side and velour on the other. He carries it around like Linus. Not all the time like Linus. But when he does, that is where my mind goes.
I have a meeting with Emily's IEP caseworker today. I hope it is a productive one. I also hope it doesn't leave me drained. Meetings about her often do. She has come a long way. I am hoping the next 3 years in middle school grow her well.
I have been tagged by Becca at Everyday Life! This is fun. She picked 11 bloggers, and asked 11 questions.... Still here OK well here is how it works:
Post these rules. 1. You must post 11 random things about yourself. 2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post. 3. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer. 4. Go to their blog and tell them that you've tagged them. 5. No stuff in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you are reading this." Legitimately tag 11 people!!
so #1, done. #2 eleven random things about myself:
I have a wicked cool scar on my knee
I can recite the entire movie: The Wizard of Oz
I met my husband at a Country bar
I can bake chocolate chip cookies without looking at the recipe
I am going to learn French
Because my mom and I are going to Paris in two years
It is her goal and dream to go and I want to be the interpreter.
Plus I thought it would be fun to go off on my kids in a foreign language since they don't listen anyway!
I have been getting my craft on. Just simple stuff. But I am doing it.
I am planning on doing more as the year progresses.
And I will be posting it here.
And now I will I answer the questions given to me:
If you had only 24 hours to live, what would you do? I know it sounds totally corny...typical...but...I would spend all my time with my family. I would not worry about dishes, laundry, or all that stupid stuff. I would do what they wanted.
What Is one song that discribes your life? Oh my...hahaha...is there a song about craziness? My life is full of it!
Are you good at making new friends? Not really. I am good at being one. But to put myself out there...that is different.
Where did you grow up? The O.C. but I was not a snotty kid. No I was shunned by them.
What is the silliest prank you ever played on someone? I once filled my cheeks with water, my mom pinched them thinking it was just air. Imagine her surprise. At least she laughed about it.
could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it
be and how long would it take you to spend the $10,000? Target. And it would not take long. hahaha.
Do you exercise regularly? Not yet...but that is the goal. I went back to Zumba on Friday and it was great!
Who would you want to play you in the movie about your life? Hmmm...this is tough...who would best suit me? Or who would I prefer? How about Lisa Kudrow? Or Ellen Degeneres? I loved her as Dory! hehehe.
Who is your celebrity crush male/female? Johnny Depp *swoon*
What is your favorite thing to drink? Diet Coke
What is the weirdest thing you will ever admit to having done in the past? Standing outside the men's room in the hotel during a Monkees convention because my friend swore Peter Tork was in there. Well we all have to go but why he would have chosen that one....well he did. And well when he come out, he and I were face to face. I think my face went three shades of red.
Okay... now for my questions...pay attention tagees.....
Where were you born?
What was your favorite subject in school--besides RECESS!
What was your most embarrassing moment? It's okay, we're all friends here!
What is your weakness food...in other words... the one food you can not resist at all!
Is your income tax money all ready spent? Do you owe?
What is your can't do without TV show?
What's your biggest pet peeve?
Have you ever laughed so hard you snorted?
Do you believe in Karma--what goes around comes around?
What would YOU do for a Klondike bar?
Who is your favorite comedian?
Now as I follow the rules given...I will list and link the ladies whom I am tagging...however, they are not tagged until I officially comment on their personal blogs! So this is your chance to go and visit them! They are all awesome by the way. So go and show them some love.
