Have You Ever...?

Have you ever had a doozy of a day/week/month LIFE and just wished for a day that your blog could be anonymous?  Sometimes I feel this way.  Then it hit me.  What if I gave you that gift?  Do you even want it?  I put a poll on the side bar there.  I really want to know so answer...the poll is anonymous!

This is what I would do...every Friday I would host an anonymous post.  The poster could write whatever they wanted.  Names can be changed, no links to personal blogs just an anonymous post to get something off your chest that you might not otherwise dare say on your own blog.

All you would have to do is contact me privately at eljayster at gmail dot com.

What are your thoughts?

Proud Mommy Moments-Fun Stuff

"Trick or treat,
smell my feet,
give me something good to eat!"

Well thank goodness they don't sing that one when they really go trick or treating.  Although, they happily sing it out loud and proud in the days leading up to Halloween.  No, I am happy to report that my kids are like most in that they open their bags and say, "Trick or treat" followed by a nice "Thank you." after.  However, this year, they decided to do some "tricks" for their treats.  It started with Ryan....

Picture that cute little blondie with his blue eyes, in his soldier costume coming to your door and saluting while saying in a firm tone, "Trick or treat soldier!"  He was getting upwards of 5 pieces of candy per household.  Upon seeing that, his sisters got in on the act.

From the Zombie Bride:  "Trick or BRAAAAAAAAINS!"

From the Pirate:  "Trick ARRRRR Treat"

I don't think they got as much as Ryan did, but they still got more than other kids because of their cleverness.  Maybe next year they will do skits!

Is it a proud mommy moment?  Sure!  They got a nice haul!  Eight pounds of candy between them!  What's your proud moment?

Dancing with the Stars---Dead

That is how the show was introduced on Halloween night.  "Dead, from Hollywood, it's Dancing with the Stars!"  with your host, Tom Boooo-geron! Oh and Brooke who didn't get a play on her name.  Tonight, the dances are all spooktacularly themed.  Plus there is also a team dance.

David and Kym 1-800-868-3406

David and Kym are dancing The Cha Cha and David wants to add magic to the act, so they bring in a professional magician to help with some basic tricks.  I enjoyed their Cha Cha.  It was fun.

Len said it had  lots of tricks and treats and that David turned himself into a dancer!
Bruno told him he has got the prestige, and that he was a natural at turning tricks.
Carrie Ann said his improvement was phenomenal. She said he was polished and finessed, but that he needed to work on his holds.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 24

 JR and Karina 1-800-868-3410

JR and Karina are dancing the Tango to Ghostbusters. Why do they give such challenges??  It was really hard for them to mesh the two styles together.  And wow, get a load of Karina's costume!
Bruno said they bewitched, conquered and swept him away buy the ghost of beauty. But he also said it was not a solid performance.
Carrie Ann said they were a little out of sync, but that they captured the tone perfectly.
Len started his critique with his famous, "Well for me..." and that can only mean one thing: he didn't like it.  And he didn't.  He said it was sub standard from what he has come to  expect from him.  Ouch.

Scores:
Ca:  9
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 25

 Nancy and Tristan 1-800-868-3405

Nancy and Tristan have the Jive this week.  I wouldn't call it great, nor would I call it bad.  I think it was good.  It was danced well.  But not fabulous.

Carrie Ann said that there are good days and not so good days and that today was a not so good day.  She said that Nancy lost the chorography a lot.  Which, she did.
Len said that certain dances suit you and some don't. "This was not a good dance for you."
Bruno agreed that the steps were in and out of sync but that she was truly devilish.

Scores:
Carrie Ann: 7
Len: 7
Bruno: 7
Total: 21  Still nice scores.

Rob and Cheryl 1-800-868-3402

Rob and Cheryl have The Tango this week and Rob is pranking Cheryl all through out rehearsal so she is working him extra hard. I hate to admit it but he has improved and grown from week one.  This is probably his best dance.

Len tells him, "Well done!  Terrific job!"
Bruno claims he has never been so manly and in control.  But warned him to keep his butt under him--as opposed to sticking it out.
Carrie Ann simply said it was his best dance so far!

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  9
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 25

Rikki and Derek 1-800-868-3411

Rikki and Derek are dancing The Paso Doble and Rikki is working with an injury to her ribs.  Despite the injury, they pull off an amazing Paso.

Bruno described it as a blizard of passion and fear. He noted her shoulders were tense at times likely due to her injury, but otherwise thought it was "incredible."
Carrie Ann said that the shapings were gorgeous, but also made note of her shoulders.
Len was very excited with their performance overall.  He liked it.

Scores:
CA: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 9
Total: 27

Hope and Maks 1-800-868-3408

Hope and Maks are dancing The Samba.  Maks brought in another dancer to help him teach Hope the dance due an injury Maks sustained.  This was another careful dance, but it was danced well.

Carrie Ann like it though.  She even compared it to their Toy Story dance and said it was better than that.
Len said that she coped well with a difficult dance, and that it was well done.
Bruno said she was running away from big bad wolf and that she was dancing as if her life depended on it!

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 24

Team Tango:  JR& Karina, Nancy& Tristan, and David& Kym

Len said the group performance was great, but that the individual dances  were a disaster.
Bruno said it had a sexy raunchy beginning, but that he agreed with Len.  Everyone made mistakes.
Carrie Ann said that it was in and out of sync but over all very nice.

Scores:
CA:  8
Len: 7
Bruno: 8
Total: 23

Team Paso:  Derek&Rikki, Hope&Maks, and Rob& Cheryl.

Team Paso  Maks is rough...like really rough with Hope during rehearsal. He's lucky it wasn't me.  I would have rammed my elbow into his side. He better watch it. Hope could totally take him.  Derek took over in teaching after Maks left the room. It was a good dance, all around.

Start watching at about 1:00 in to see what I mean about rehearsal.

Bruno said it was powerful, moving, dramtraic, building to a fantastic ending.  "Well done!"
Carrie Ann said it was amazing, dramatic and that they were in sync with everything!
Len said that the individual performances were fantastic and added that Rob did great keeping up with the pros.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  9
Len: 8
Bruno: 9
Total: 26

Going home:  David an Kym.  Sadly, it should not have been them.  This season has been like that almost from the start.  Almost.

Ten Things to Smile About

What made me smile in October?  Welll......

1.  A triple birthday bash
It was Ryan, Lucas--Emmy Mom's son--and her MIL(who just happens to be my aunt!)  It was awesome!

2.  Getting to spend the day with my BFF!

Kristin as Elf #2
3.  A really cool play...I got to enjoy the amazing production of The Hobbit twice this month.  The teacher was sneaky and smart to put that play on BEFORE the release of the movie.

4.  A haircut for me...I really chopped it off this time!

5.  Halloween fun...we did Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat.  Collectively my kids have eight pounds of candy.  I think I should get a cut.

6.  A wild Rumpus...The first grade did a dramatic reading of Where The Wild Things Are and got dressed up in their "costumes."

7.  Comedy on Pandora...I laugh like a maniac on the road now.  I look like fruitcake, but hey I'm laughing.

8.  Being featured on Shell's blog---seriously made my week!

9.  Holding a sleeping baby.  I got him to sleep, and then we laid down together.  He's a sweetie.

10.  A good dental check up for me.  Always makes me smile!

What made you smile in October?

Put on a disguise
It can be subtle...

 It can be swashbuckling!

It can be scary!

But you'll be safe!
Happy Haunting boys and ghouls!
