If I Could Do It Over...

If I could do my wedding over, I would.  Don't get me wrong, I like the guy  I married.  I wouldn't change that.  I liked the colors.  I liked my dress.  The food was fabulous.  My mom worked with a chef so we got a pretty stellar spread.  No, those things I would not change.  I wouldn't change the location of our wedding.  So what would I change?

Well for starters, I would change the fact that one of our groomsmen had a broken leg. Yep, you read that right.  A broken leg.  Ironically he broke his leg the day we had originally chosen.  Bless his heart for coming and standing in the wedding.  Next to the bride, he got the most attention.

Next, I would change the wedding party ever so slightly.  See, my sister was a bridesmaid.  I wouldn't change that for the world.  She is my sister.  No, I would change the groomsmen.  Biggest mistake I made there.  At the time, it just made sense to have her then husband turd-man be the groomsmen on her arm.  Looking back, if hind sight were in fact 20/20 I would have had my brother stand with her.  He's my brother.  He took good care of me, when he wasn't torturing me I mean.  But seriously, why didn't I?  Wish I had.

Another change I would make is the guest list.  I hate being politically correct.  It's for the whiny cry baby type.  If you don't like it, boo-hoo.  Now, I am all for tact and good manners, but if you want political correctness, you won't find it here.  At least not anymore.  So here it is.  My matron of honor was my a very special friend of mine.  We were two peas in a pod.  I was her maid of honor so it made sense for her to be mine.  I would not change that.  Not at all.  The change would be not inviting our mutual friend who so graciously gave her a place to stay.  I felt obliged to invite her to the wedding.  I did.  She signed the guest book, but did not bring even a card.  Wouldn't you at least bring a card?  She didn't.  And to make it worse, her dress of choice was, well it was tacky in poor taste.  It was a short spaghetti strap formal-ish dress.  The dress had to have been five two sizes too small for her. It was just tacky.  And many people said exactly that.

So what would I change?  A broken leg, a groomsmen, and a guest.  Not too shabby.  Okay I might change the bridesmaids dresses getting lost, and me turning into BRIDEZILLA but we won't go there.

So fun to see that picture! Well if those are your only
changes sounds like it was a pretty good day. I would change our cake that was falling over, the fact that the DJ did not have our song, even though we had told him what it was way before hand (oh and he was late too). And I would hire a diff photographer and not someone who was rude to some of my family and smelled like ciggerette smoke.

Not too many changes!

Dh admits that he wishes we had done what I wanted and to have a small ceremony on the beach, instead of the big(ish) church wedding we had. But, he was set on that. I told him to go ahead and plan it,then. Which he did. I picked my dress and he did the rest.

Definitely could have been worse. Your train is very pretty!

I would have wished for better weather, 9 degrees during pictures and a snow storm during the reception. . .

That's pretty good if you could only think of a few small changes!!

One of your bridesmaids looks just like Fergie! I wish we would have just taken the money and skipped the wedding reception altogether. We got so much useless junk for gifts that took years to let go of. Lame.

Aw, loved the pic. So cute. What would I have changed? Hmmm...I dunno. Maybe have opted for a summer rather than a winter wedding! :)

lol thats not too bad! Its nice when you look at wedding pictures, everything and everyone always looks so perfect, whenever I look back at my wedding pics I forget about all the other issues like - this person wore white, or that person was rude to that person bla bla, it just looks perfect and everyones smiling:) maybe I just blocked the problems of that out lol:) ps your wedding picture is gorgeous!!

My mom tells me exactly the same thing from time to time. She wasn't able to take pictures of their wedding and I think it's simple the most stupid thing one could ever forget. A wedding is not something you do over again unless you have a hobby to get a divorce every year and rewed regularly. My mother gave me my father's cufflinks. Those were the cufflinks that my father used during their wedding day and it is one of the remembrances that they got married aside from the dress and the wedding rigns that they still wear. cufflinks and studs

Oh my...how did I miss this prompt! I think anyone who has ever had a big wedding would have some do overs...eventually. I would run off to Hawaii...which is what I wanted to do anyway!
