Everything was Green

Yesterday for Saint Patrick's Day we all wore our traditional green.  Did you know the reason you wear green is so that the leprechauns can't see you?  If you don't wear green, then they can see you and they will pinch you.  Which is where pinching people when they aren't wearing green comes from.  Well none of us wanted to be seen so we all wore green.

I felt my food was in danger as well.  So I made us a cake.

green of course.  Then I frosted it...
                                  Green frosting of course

How about.....
             Green......
  Rice!!!

Kristin was in awe that I actually dyed the rice green.  She was a little uneasy about the safety of the rice.  I assured her it was safe to eat.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  The rice was bright bright green.  It was quite the sight.  It made the broccoli look so blah and sad.

What did you do for St.Patrick's Day?

Oh what a good mom. My biggest accomplishment yesterday was putting green food coloring in milk for their Lucky Charms. The green rice kind of makes me want to throw up! Did they eat it?

I did green mac&cheese which my little girl thought was the greatest....my husband on the other hand said he was glad he was at work and missed that one!
I'm confused. Doesn't Broccoli always look blah?

When I was in high school I would always sneak food coloring in cookie dough and get in so much trouble. I have no idea why it made my mom so mad, but green cookies taste better!

LOL with the rice! We just hid "coins" fro my son to find and made little "messes" that the leprachauns left behind (those little buggers).

That my friend is a lot of green! We did nothing. The kids have leprechaun houses and they leave them out, the leprechauns pee green in the toilet and leave treasures....OK, i just we do do something.
