Sweet Dreams

Have you ever dreamed you were the opposite sex?  Did it freak you out both in the dream and in reality?  I have dreamed this more than once.  And it has freaked me out.  Do I want to be the opposite sex?  Or is it just morbid natural curiosity?

Have you ever dreamed something that left you feeling sad, angry, or guilty--whatever emotion you may have experienced in the dream when you wake up?  I have.  I have woke up feeling angry and not because I was in a bad mood--although it didn't help.  It was because of the dream I had.  And then I have to spend the better part of a day convincing myself it was just dream.

Have you ever dreamed you could do something you can't really do?  I often dream I can figure skate.  Like Kristi Yamaguchi!  I will pull off triple axles, triple toe loops and the whole thing.  However, when I dream I have magical powers they always fail me.  Now where is the logic in that?  I couldn't do a triple anything in reality, but for some reason I can do that in a dream but not twitch my nose and make things appear.

Have you ever dreamed something scary?  And you wake up scared to move.  Scared to breathe.  I had a series of bad dreams the other night, and never was I so grateful for my little man to wake me up because, "one of his bad dreams did not get caught."  (in his dream catcher)  Well neither did mine.  But I pulled up my big girl panties and got out of bed to take care of things.  I set the boy up on the floor next to our bed, and climbed hastily back into my own.  I scooted as close to husband as I could get and grabbed his hand.  He was my reality.  I was seriously freaked out by these dreams.  When I drifted back into sleep, the dream had shifted.  Instead of being caught in the midst of the scary things, it was a movie I was watching.  Well I suppose a movie is easier to dismiss.

What have you dreamed lately?  Don't be shy.  We don't judge.  Play along with Glamazon!

I haven't had many dreams lately...haven't had enough deep sleep I guess.

But I remember shortly after Eric and I were first married dreaming that someone broke into our apartment and was attacking our child (who we did not have at the time), I woke up crying and scared and freaked out.

Usually when I dream I know that I am dreaming and more of an observer on the side wondering what is going to happen next.

I have dreams where hubs is cheating or I'm beating the crap out of my kids - always wake up in a bad mood after those and I am scared as to why I have them!
I have some wierd dreams but not usually scary. My daughter was away at camp this week and not having her here brought on some weird dreams.

Oh yeah. I dream so vividly most nights. My dreams are intense and I either wake up scared, laughing (which is always funny in itself), or just plain stressed. It's hard for me to get a good nights sleep because my dreams are so crazy!!

The last scary dream I had took place in my old elementary school. I was at a high school reunion with my husband and kids and we were attacked by zombies.

I hate scary dreams! When I have them I usually feel just like you said, I don't want to move. I end up waking Martin up and just to hear his voice makes me feel better! lol. I remember I woke up once dreaming that he had cheated on me (when we were dating) and I was upset at him the whole day. He was like - whats wrong are you ok? and I was like - no I'm not ok! whats going on with us!? whats happening!? lol I finally told him it was the dream and he was like, its only a dream, I didn't really do that, and just to hear that for some reason calmed me. its so weird, its like I know in my concious mind the dreams aren't real, but my subconcious still feels them ya know? its so funny how that happens! My mom used to tell me when I was little and I'd have a nightmare to "think of good things", and I realize I say that to myself sometimes if I wake up from a nightmare with M. :)

I had a dream about a serial killer. He found out that I had witnessed his latest murder and decided to come after me. He cornered me in a treehouse (?!), which was when I remembered, "Hey! this is MY dream!" I punched him the throat, hard enough to knock him out of the tree. He broke his neck in the fall and that's when I woke up, feeling vaguely horrified and oddly victorious...

I dream sooo much!!

The dreams vary but I definitely wake up feeling the way I felt in the dream.
Once I dreamt that I was falling off a mountain & that's when I woke up, scared & as if I was on the edge of something.

Yes & I have had scary dreams too!
I don't dream much anymore -- I'm supposing it's because I never hit that deep stage!

When I'm pregnant, however -- SCARY! with Rachel, I had nightmares about getting back together with ex-husband and ex-boyfriends. YUCK! Made me want to eat Folgers, like in Nightmare on Elm Street!

If I dream I don't remember them, but I do remember having very vivid dreams when I was pregnant with Scooby. One such dream seemed so real that I swear I literally jumped 3 feet out of bed and snuggled closer to my hubs and stood staring around the room for about 5 minutes before I was convinced it was only a dream. It was Jeeper Creeper type bad.
love your dream questions...
I used to dream so much before I returned to graduate school...
not any more...

oy vey, the other night I dreamt that my ex-husband and I got remarried and the minute I had the ring on I went into panic mode because I knew I wanted out already. I woke up that morning very off kitler. I have also dreamt that I can do awesome ballet moves.

I've dreamt I could fly (more like hover a la anti-gravity), I've dreamt of bad guys coming after me, I've dreamt about smoking (and almost believed it when I woke up), and only a few times became cognizant in the dream that I was dreaming.

The worst? Dreaming I had a test to take that I hadn't studied for and never shown up for class. Never did that in real life. Hmmm.

ooh you gotta check out dreammoods.com I analyze my dreams there all the time. All the freaky dreams usually mean something pretty insightful. I LOVE dreaming now!! I learn all about myself. They have a dictionary, where you just look up anything you saw in your dream and it tells you what it symbolizes. Very cool.
