Confessions of a Shattered Mind

I am a dreamer.  I like to pretend I am a guest on Ellen.  Wouldn't you just love to shoot the breeze with her?  I also will in turn pretend that I am the cool talk show host who gets to interview everyone. Wouldn't you love to sit and chat with Harrison Ford?  Of course my daughter would insist on Taylor Lautner.

I also like to dream that I have written a best selling novel.  And then it becomes a series. And then the series becomes a movie.  And then all of the books are movies.  And I am suddenly the next pop culture icon.

I also like to go and visit my happy place.  There are no kids there.  There are no dishes.  No laundry.  Just me and my thoughts.  And probably some kind of fruity beverage with an umbrella...sans alcohol.  I go there a lot.  One day I will really go there.

Am I alone in my fantasies?

You are most DEFINITELY NOT alone. I dream of a tropical island far, far away quite often. In fact, if you stop by my place today, you can even see who I'd have visiting on my dream getaway. It's my 100th post too, and my day won't be complete without you. ;)

Oh yeah, I have dreamed all of those dreams too!!
Lourie, I am laughing out loud right now. You my dear blogging buddy are my Louise or Thelma. Can't remember which one is what. I don't want to be the one who gets the money ripped off by Brad Pitt thou.

These talk show hosts, we know we could do their job. Right? Let's see who I would like to interview... Harrison Ford sounds good but he seems a bit shy and difficult to open up sometimes. I think I would chose Henry Cavill, the British guy, to interview. He needs more exposure.
Also, the writing thing, and the Stephenie Meyer thing, yeah...and writing with three young boys, sometimes one on her lap. Made me finally get my act together and write and I wrote two manuscripts after I read that. I have never tried to send a query letter to a literary agent because I'm a chicken.
Thanks for this post, again I laugh and relate to the core.

Ha ha! Awesome post. I can't wait to find that dream place too. Not too hot, not too cold. And quiet!

Writing best-sellers wouldn't be too bad either!

you are not alone, I will admit that I sit in my car driving somewhere and interview myself with the dashboard as my only witness. but we'll just keep that between us.

Oh, no, I'm right there with ya. A place that I don't ever have to clean up, and I get to eat my own food, while it is still hot. Sigh. Heaven :)

Nope, not alone. Although I would insist that the Twilight pic be replaced by one of Harry Potter!

Day dreaming is pretty much how I get through life....always have. this week I've been daydreaming about when my boys go off to college and how although I will miss them, I will move back to the city, buy a fantastic loft, get me a little dog companion. Of course by then I will be a famous published writer and have a wildly handsome boyfriend.

I am right here with ya! Please add some tequila to my drink.
I think you'd make a FINE talk show host, and when I come to visit, you'll need to add a bit of rum to that big ole drink!
