Chocolate Chip Cookies

Supposedly mine are the best. Well I promise I only do one thing different than the best recipe I know--Nestle Toll House--Anyway...here is the recipe the way I do it.

1 cup of crisco--just the plain white stuff not the butter flavor
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar packed
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Cream crisco and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Then mix in dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Cook at 375* for 9-11 minutes. I start at 9min.30 seconds and go from there. I like to have the tops of the cookies just barely turning golden brown at the top. They are chewier that way. If you want them crunchier than go the full 11 minutes. Really that is all I do, but even my mother wants MY cookies over her own. Silly mom!

Lourie's cookies are da bomb. They don't last very long around our house, especially since the "extras" are here M-F. Ever seen the commercial where people are at a party, block the table, then everything is gone. I rest my case.
