Only Me

I can not wait to blog about the first day of school. I am sure I will have many tales to tell! However, I must first tell a few tales of my own.

Yesterday our day was planned out for a little business and a lot of fun. I had to meet Emily's new teacher in the morning, and then in the afternoon we were going to The Western Archeology and Paleontology Museum. It is a fairly new museum and yesterday it was free for locals like us. It wasn't going to be a crazy day, just a busy and fun one.

The rule of thumb is, at least for me, nothing really ever goes according to plan. Rich and I are in the market for a new house--we are renting right now. And we actually have three realtors helping us now!! Well yesterday, our number three(third times the charm?) showed me a house that we are interested in. It's a short sale. Which means a big pain the fanny and a lot of paper work. I went and saw it. I really liked it. Told Rich about it, and we put a bid on it! Now the real fun begins.

As my mom, the kids and I piled in the van after seeing the house--Rich was at work--my mom noticed her purse was missing from my unlocked car. My heart sank. I told her I would lock it! We drove home, praying all the way that she had simply left it behind at my house. Kristin said she prayed too. When we got back the power of prayer was realized as my mom's purse was waiting for her by the couch. After some praises and shouts of joy, we quickly ate our lunch and headed to the museum.

The museum was very fun and the kids had a blast. I will post the pictures later today. I am too lazy to go ALL the way upstairs right now, which is where the camera is at the moment. We saw lots of very interesting fossils and other fantastic finds that were all discovered right here in our own backyard!

After the museum, we came home and rested a bit before we would go out to dinner. Then, my mother's brand new computer had a stroke! she went online to look something up and pop ups galore came flying at us. It was at website called "My online computer scan" and it wanted her to install some antivirus software. well I knew enough to NOT do that, but how do I stop it, and get rid of it! My husband--the computer geek- sent me a link that led me to the cure. I will include the links at the end of the post. Don't let it happen to your PC. So while I was preforming major surgery, my mother took my nephew to get a friend and then she bought dinner and brought it home to us all.

It took me about 4 hours to completely fix the computer on top of having a pounding migraine which I already had tried to treat with 3 diet cokes and two doses of Ibuproferen. I was hocked up on caffiene. It was a good thing. I needed to get my kids, and my extras home so they could get ready for bed. I got them settled around 9:30. Then drama struck again, Kristin's favorite security thing was missing. She may be 11, but she still holds onto this piece of fabric at night. I understand. I had to go back to my mom's to finish the computer stuff, and then I came home and found the missing security and she was off to bed. I had two loads of laundry to complete, so it was good that I was so wound up.

This morning went very well. No hang ups. I am dead on my feet tho. I will post about their first day tomorrow. Pictures from the museum will be here later this evening. Please come back to check them out.

If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, you should install the lastest version of Firefox. It's better for weeding out the icky stuff. My antivirus of choice is Avast These are all free and very user friendly.

Wow, you had quite the day. Glad your mom found her purse.. that would be horrible.
Excited to see how the girls liked school today.
Ugh. I've had that virus too.

I can't believe you found time to medicate yourself with Diet Coke. Aren't you supposed to sit down, exhale, and tune out the world while you drink those?
Good luck with the house. Short sales are a huge pain.

Life is good. Even with the ups and downs of the day, we all had a good time, prayers were answered and maybe there is a house in the your future.
