No, I'm Not Proud

In the bible after Jesus was baptized, the Father speaks and says, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." He didn't say proud of. He said, "in whom I am well pleased." This has stayed with me pretty much since I have had children of my own. It's so easy to say, "I'm so proud of you!" And it's a good thing to be proud of their accomplishments right? But then, I remember those words that the Father spoke, "in whom I am well pleased." He was pleased. Isn't that just awesome???

That being said, I have to say I am well pleased with Kristin. She made honor roll last year in her first semester of school. She had been struggling to keep her head above water for a long time. Then we moved here and it all changed for the better. She works very hard and gives it her all. At the end of the last semester, I saw that she had done it again, but there was no ceremony. I thought that was rather odd. I mean why not do it again? Don't most schools? Well today was the honor roll assembly for returning 7th grade students who made honor roll in the last semester of school. I was excited for her. I personally never made honor roll. My GPA was average at best. And here my girl has done it twice.

Not only did she do it again, but she got a higher GPA than last time. Her BF; one of my extra girls also made honor roll. It was a good day for them. Now Kristin, and both of my extra girls are inspired to do it again. I love their enthusiasm. I hope that it stays with them as they go through school. It will serve them well later in life. So no, I am not proud of these girls. I am genuinely pleased with them. Way to go!!!

Yeah!! So awesome. That is actually a good idea, to honor them now.. helps them have more motivation to do it again.
