First Day of School

I can't believe she is in the 7th grade!! She has grown so much, but some things never change. She was nervous as usual. I sent her on way wishing her well. For the first time ever, I didn't even drive her to school. She rode with her friends. She came home all smiles and loving each of her teachers. She got to see old friends, and friends from church who are just starting middle school. She is a teacher's aide this year, and has her mind set on joining the drama club. Go Kristin go!

And here is the 4th grader. She was up and raring to go. She already kind of knows her teacher. She had her last year for P.E. And it just so happens that this teacher is good friends with her 3rd grade teacher. Both of these women, made sure Emily had her buddy in her class. Now how cool is that? She will have a full load of studies this year--lots of books--and her first ever class rotations. She is growing up too. I didn't drive her to school either. She went with Kristin. She had a good first day and was happy to be in class with her friends as well as making a new one. Go Emily go!

I loved those smiles as they came in the door. A great start to a new year.
Dear Lourie! We need to get your DVD player fixed and sign you up for net flicks. You saw your first red box the other day and you haven't seen Oh Brother Where Art Thou. BUT Alas, I believe the short coming is mine- my best friend is a toss up between my laptop and my DVD player- that's probably not a good thing.
Thank you for your encouragement and comments on my blog!!!!
