DWTS--Totally Rad 80's!!!

Like ohmygosh it's totally radical!  It's 80's night on DWTS!  Sometimes it's like barf me out the door while other times it was totally trippendicular!

 Hope and Maks 1-800-868-3408

Hope and Maks are dancing the Tango tonight.  She is very driven and quite the perfectionist.  I think she would do really well if she could loosen up a little and believe in herself.  I didn't like their Tango, perhaps it was the dulled down version of "Living on a Prayer!"

Len tells Maks that he did a good job but that the Tango is about action and reaction. He goes on to tell Hope she was to too filleted and willowy(He got booed for tha!)He told her she was too loose limbed but that  he liked the aggression the attack.
Bruno called Hope the 80's super bitch,  "Full on  Alexis Carrington-Colby mode(scary that he knows this!) Padded shoulders, sharp stilletos, always ready for a fight or a night of passion.  Strong, Sexy and powerful!!!"
Carrie Ann agrees with both of them saying she was totally strong and so in character...She warned that sometimes she attacked so hard some of her lines got awkward.  "Less is more."

Scores:
Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 24

Carson and Anna 1-800-868-3409

Carson and Anna dance The Jive to Wake Me Up(Before You Go-Go).  Carson is so easy to love and enjoy.  I would love to go to lunch with him and people watch and trash talk.  You know it would be a blast.  He puts on a show when he is on the dance floor, but he can't dance.  But we love the fun he provides.

Bruno said it was loonier than looney tunes, and that it was a crowning achievement in madness.
Carrie Ann agreed that it was definitely fun, but that it was week 5 and she was not seeing too much technique anywhere. Carson defended that there was a little technique but a lot of fun.
Len said, "I like you, you know I like you...if I was judging with my heart, you would be back next week.  I am not sure that will happen."  It was a bittersweet moment.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  6
Len: 6
Bruno: 7
Total: 19

Nancy and Tristan 1-800-868-3405

Nancy and Tristan are dancing the Rumba it is  very classy and clean.  By clean, I mean that it is danced well.
Carrie Ann calls it "nice and appropriate." She says she wants to see real passion, that she doesn't feel Nancy has a connection to the dance.
Len said it was simple, effective and flowed with ease and elegance.  He noted that there were a few  unstable moments, but that it was overall good.
Bruno called her a southern belle, and that she hit it just right.  "It was sensuous; one of your best dances."

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  7
Len: 7
Bruno: 8
Total: 22

JR and Karina 1-800-868-3410

JR and Karina dance The Samba to "Conga."  He's got IT.  I know I've been saying it every week, but I want to see him win!  He's definitely a contender.
Len said,"I didn't think you would come out and preform anything like that!  But from now on when anybody asks how to dance the Samba, I'm going to say, 'Have a look at JR.' "
Bruno said, "Talk about hip action! You were a loin shattering sex machine! So much fire down below... a volcano! Brilliant!"  Gotta love Bruno's descriptive powers.
Carrie Ann said she wanted more of that! "Amazing!  You were on fire!  That is the way to dance the samba!"

Totals:
Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
Total: 29

Rob and Cheryl 1-800-868-3402

Rob and Cheryl dance The Rumba and Little Romeo comes into rehearsal to teach him how to "Rumba"  and be "seductive."  It was  like the blind leading the blind.  Their Rumba was good.  Not spectacular and breath taking, but good.  He improves each week.  But I do not see him as a contender.

Bruno called him Rob the Heartthrob and commended him for finally using Cheryl as a partner and not hiding behind her.
Carrie Ann said that from the beginning she saw potential. She compared him to the tortoise and the hare.  "Making steps each week."
Len said that this dance, for guys is very hard to be masculine in, and told him he did it! "You took command, and you were working it!"  Ummm...not sure I saw the same dance as you Len.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  9
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 25

Chaz and Lacey 1-800-868-3412

Chaz and Lacey are also dancing The Samba.  I would not want to follow JR's act.  While he did dance more than he has in a couple of weeks, he still did not do much dancing and there was a wardrobe malfunction!  His fly was open!  Gah!  My eyes!

Carrie Ann said he was still going strong from last week and that it was the most dancing from week one.
Len said it was a gallant effort.   He said that Chaz had a feel for the dance but that  the technique  was lacking.
Bruno said that he got the dance going but that it was like dribbling a basketball.  Thank you Bruno!  I find your honesty very refreshing!!

Scores:
CA:  7
Len: 7
Bruno: 7
Total: 21  Now about these scores....

David and Kym 1-800-868-3406

David and Kym danced The Tango and I was wowed.  He did good.  His little girl was IMPRESSED!  As in, "Wow, my Daddy is way cooler than your Daddy!"  It was super cute.

Len  said that this is the 1/2 way phase. " You have to show up or shut up...you have SHOWN UP!"
Bruno called it The Tango with a rebel yell. (Even though they danced to "Tainted Love")
Carrie Ann said that he is improving tremendously, and that she wants him to work on  his musicality.
Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 9
Bruno: 8
Total: 25

 Rikki and Derek 1-800-868-3411

In 1987, Rikki was just being discovered and Derek, well Derek was just being....a baby.  Their dance is The Foxtrot. It is not a typical Foxtrot and even has the "running man" worked into it, which sadly Rikki botches.

Bruno tells Rikki that  he still has nightmares of the running man, and says, "you did it wrong!"  He told her she did not have to do that.
Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno that she was way off. But she noted that together they are an amazing team.
Len said  that was not the mood he appreciated in the foxtrot. And that as far as holds went there was no body contact, and the footwork was hit and miss.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 24

Going Home:  Carson and Anna.  Goodbye fun.
Next week:  Broadway.  Shoot!  Carson would have been perfect for that!

I figured he was soon to go, but I missed it this week. You're so right that he would have been terrific for Broadway week!
Glad you got your post redone--I look forward to them. But what a hassle for you! It's always sad when one of the most fun performers go home. Too bad, especially considering the theme next week.

I really really really like rob & Cheryl, I hope they atleast make it to the final three. I cant see them winning. I dont think anybody is going to beat JR!
