Do's And Don't's of Knott's Berry Farm

Ryan looks petrified I know, but he came off saying it was AWESOME!

Here are a few friendly do's and don't's for when you go to Knott's Berry Farm.  But really it can be applied to any amusement park.
  •  Do bring sunscreen
  • do bring chapstick, blistex or some form of lip protection
  • do bring water...more than you think you will need.
  • do bring snacks healthy and junkie
  • do bring jackets even in the summer
  • do bring a second pair of shoes--your feet will thank you
  • do bring a change of clothes for the little ones and even the not so little ones
  • do bring a brush and spare ponytail holders
  • bring hats
  • bring a wagon or money to rent one--better to bring one
  • do make a plan for rides, eating and shows
  • do communicate
  • use your cell phones
  • Do bring your required meds and anything you think might need for things like...headaches.
And now for the don'ts....

  • Don't BRING your make up.
  • Don't BRING your hair spray
  • Don't take pictures with your BFF in the bathroom (saw some girls doing this) plenty of awesome photo opps outside!!!
  • Don't wear heels
  • Don't wear mini skirts, dresses, bootie shorts or fish net stockings
  • Don't leave the line and rejoin your group later.
  • Unless it's like a potty break..which you should have thought of that before.
  • Don't force your child to ride any rides they do not want to.  I have seen that too many times.
  • Don't stand in the middle of the walk way to make your next plan.  Pull over.
  • Don't go if you are pregnant.  Unless you plan on getting one of the cart deals so you don't have to walk everywhere.

Did I miss anything?

I was beginning to wonder how you were going to carry all of that stuff you said to bring, until you mentioned the wagon :). And that picture is awesome

Do buy your souveniers at the end of the day so you don't have to carry them (I mostly use that one for Disneyland).

DO "Zig" when everyone else is "Zagging" - meaning rides the big rides when it's lunch or dinnertime - less of a line, etc...

Don't bring your infant! We have a Six Flags near by and I can't tell you how annoyed I get when I see parents bringing their less than year old babies into the park. To have to push them around, not to mention the germs, the noise, the people...ugh. Why do that to yourself?!

You mention a lot about bringing things in, I'd say to make sure you check your park's policies before even going. The park I mentioned doesn't allow you to bring ANYTHING in for the most part. They even make you dump out your water bottle before you go in, so make sure you know what you can and can't bring before spending the time packing and making arrangements to bring in items. :)

I would add: Go in October and not in the middle of July. But that is just me.

I hate people that do that in the walkways. Move over!

Excellent list. It's been years since I've been to an amusement park, and I'm not sure we'll be going anytime soon.

And DO bring a small suitcase to lug around your kids stuff that they will ALWAYS pass to you! :)
Last time we went to Knott's Berry it was FULL of 14 year old sluts. Seriously.

Great photo! But I'm not going. I don't take off my heels and my fishnets for any old amusement park.

I am always so blown away at how seemingly uncomfortable people dress in those parks. Your tips are excellent!

Amusement parks. Sigh. What fun. I haven't been to one since I was in HS, but landsy, they are fun. I will have to remember this list the next time I go.

I always wonder about those who wear heels to amusement parks. It never fails, I always see it, but I always wonder how they'll feel at the end of the day.

Yes heels-crazy! And I was going to add don't go pregnant before I saw you did. The only time I went was when I was pregnant. My rides were limited. :)
