Knowledge

It is alphabe-Thursday with Jenny and today's letter is:  K

As I pondered this letter, I wondered what in the world I could write about.  Then it came to me.  "Knowledge."  Knowledge is one of those tricky words that start with one letter and uses the letter next it for its sound.  How do we know that?  Because we have that knowledge.  Knowledge is a powerful thing.  It is ours to keep and it is the one thing we can continue to grow and grow.  We won't be taking our money, or our possessions with us after this life.  However, our knowledge is ours to keep forever.  And I am of the belief that we will continue to gain knowledge well beyond this life.  We only know a tiny speck of information.

When my girls were little, I used to tell them I knew everything.  Because let's face it, in the mind of a 3 and 6 year old, you have unlimited knowledge and you do in fact have all the answers.  That is only because at 3 and 6 their questions are simple and we can easily teach them.  But, without that knowledge, even the simple stuff would not come easy.

As my children grow, so do their questions.   They are sometimes easy for me to answer and sometimes not so much.  When it is a harder one, I tell them I have to think about it first, or look it up on the internet.  Talk about knowledge.  There it is at your finger tips.

Knowledge grows us, and keeps us young.  Our bodies will disagree, but it is far better to keep our knowledge growing then to cut it off entirely.

If I had the means, I would totally go some place tropical.  Not only that, I would just lay around and be a total beach bum the entire time.  If I had the means, I would get a nose job.  I have this annoying bump in my nose.  It's a family trait.  One I could live without.  Sure it would be painful for a while, but in the end I would have a nice bumpless nose.  A butt lift?  Nah.  I am okay so far.  I was going to say boob job originally, but...my cups runneth over.  Nough said!

1.  I nearly choked to death on a chocolate covered cherry
2.  I've been hospitalized 4 times
3.  I almost passed out at school

I think it's crucial for our brains to keep expanding our base of knowledge as we age. We gotta keep those synapses snapping!

Hmm yes guessing the choking is the lie.

Great K word. I thought you might do Kristen :)
Use it or lose it is my motto!

Keep on learning....

I'll bet you never passed out at school (I passed out at work one day...quite embarrassing)

I think having JDaniel has challenged me to learn more just so I can help him learn.

Very thoughtful Letter K post...I like that when the question needs some thought....your answer is "I'll need to THINK about it". I've used that phrase alot as a teacher of Junior High Kids!

Lourie, oh I wish I could fix whatever is wrong on my computer that won't allow me to visit your blog.

I miss coming here more often.

Finding time to sneak on my husbands business computer is getting rarer.

I love your K post. I've heard that knowledge is power but often I think knowledge is more truly a fountain of youth.

Thanks for linking this week.

He's not back yet from making coffee yet, so I'm going to try and see what else you've been up to lately.

A+
