On The Red Carpet....

On the red carpet is none other than CA Girl to accept her award....Life is Good from Nikki at Simple Living in a Big City!  And now for her acceptance speech...

First of all I would like thank Miss Nikki for thinking of me for this award!  It seriously made my day.  In accepting this award, I have agreed to answer 10 questions...

1) If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
I do not blog anonymously, nor do I intend to.  If I can't be straight with you all what's the point?

2) Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.

I'm not stubborn! I'm not! I'm not! I'm not!

3) What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
Honestly it depends on the day.  Sometimes I see a very tired worn out person, and other times I see someone who knows what she is doing...that day!

4) What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Diet Coke!

5) When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Time for myself?  Hahahahahaha!  I blog whenever I get the chance.  And if I am feeling ambitious I may just upstairs and soak in the tub.

6) Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?

I want to learn a foreign language.  There is more, but I will leave it at that.

7) When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever , the shy person, or always ditching?
Shy, ditching, clown that over achieves selectively.

8) If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see?
When my kids were born, simply because at those exact moments, my life would be forever changed.

9) Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?

I am much more comfortable with the written word.  My words flow better, and I can delete whenever it is necessary.

10) If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?

Shoot, that is a hard one.  I love adult conversation.  It's a rare and precious gem!! But I also love to lose myself in a good book.

And now, as a recipient of this award, I am tasked with paying it forward...in no particular order:

Shelley at Hand in Hand

Okay new recipients...it is your turn to share the love and accept your awards.

I was not held back in kindergarten, though I do believe if it is necessary it should be done.  I did go to three different elementary schools.  I was in one school for kindergarten, we moved, then 1st -3rd until that school closed, and finally the last one 4- 6.  The controversial piece?  Way back in 1984, when AIDS was a taboo subject and we were afraid to breathe the same air as someone with it because we were ignorant...the high school editor tackled a very controversial subject.  Whether or not students with AIDS should be allowed to attend school or not.  My answer was this:  I think they should.  We do not know how this disease is transmitted.  We need to treat everyone fairly.  The article was published 4 years later after that student had graduated.  It made the local paper.  I met my high school sweetheart through that.  He was the photographer.

1.  I played softball when I was a teenager
2.  We were undefeated for two years
3.  I was the bench warmer

That is picture is awesome! Very well done.
And gee thanks for the award, blush :)

Okay I am learning all sorts of things about you, I didn't know you played softball.

#1 cannot be the lie or the other two would be lies by default.

So I am guessing #2 is the lie, I hate to call you a bench warmer, but I have never heard you talking about playing, so maybe you didn't play much.

Congrats Lourie!! You are definitely stubborn! haha

Interesting about that article that was upblished. I'm so glad AIDS isn't taboo anymore. I think people who judge are ignorant.

Hubba Hubba. This post should have come with a rating. ;)

I'm going to say that you were not a bench warmer and #3 is your lie.

Congrats on your award!

Well, if only one can be a lie, then it must be #3, since you can't be undefeated and and not play ball.
Unless you played soccer and were still the benchwarmer . . .
Questioning myself now.
Nope. Still going with #3.

I really need to meet you...diet coke and a foreign language, nothing is as amazing as your child being born, etc, etc.

Sorry my comments are lame tonight...too tired. I'll be back tomorrow to knock your socks off!
