No Question

This past Saturday marked my 17th wedding anniversary.  I can hardly believe that picture is that old.  Just look at those poofy sleeves!  When he proposed there was no question in my mind.  I knew the answer.   I had no doubt.  I was terrified on that day.  I wasn't able to eat in the days prior.  But still I knew without a doubt that I was going to marry this man.  What was it about him?

He could dance.  That is how we met.  He was in the military.  I love a man in uniform.

He likes to talk.  A lot.  So do I.  He makes me laugh.  I make him laugh.  I think that part is really cool.  He let's me cry when I need to.  He is a lot a bit irreverent. So am I.  He drives me crazy sometimes.  But that is okay, because I know sometimes I drive him just as crazy.  We fight.  We make up.  We work together to raise our children and to keep our marriage going.  Neither one of us is perfect, but I can honestly say we were perfectly matched.   It's been 17 years and I can't remember my life without him.  Did I know the night I met him I would marry him.  Heck no.  But that day he proposed...I did.  No question.

17 years is awesome! Congrats. Marriage is tough, and it helps when we have the RIGHT person to share the hell and heaven with!

Happy Anniversary! What an incredibly great post! Love it. And that picture at the end is so sweet. Congrats on 17 years! I actually remember hearing about you getting married, but you know what's funny? I was 10! ha ha

I had no doubt with my hubby either. It's good to remind myself of that too when things are sometimes rough.

Happy anniversary, Lourie! I always love hearing a good love story, and yours definitely qualifies. You clearly knew what you were doing when you picked your guy!

I didn't have any doubts, either. It was a no-brainer, and we'll be married 38 years in December.

I'd say we're both pretty lucky.

=)
