Why So Soon!?

It's January right? I just want to be sure that I didn't sleep through a few months, or that I am in such a frazzled state of being that I missed them entirely. I ask this because on Saturday Jan.2 when I braved going to Wal-Mart, I saw bathing suits on display. Coats are already being marked down. Why so soon!? Is the world ending tomorrow? Is there a bikini shortage I don't know about? I know all about global warming, but this is ridiculous!

On Dec. 28th when my mom and I went shopping, all the Christmas gift isles were replaced with Valentine's Day gifts. What!? Wasn't it Christmas just two days prior!? And isn't New Year's Eve just a few short days away? Why so soon? Did Valentine's Day get moved up? If so, please tell me when it is. Of course Valentine's in our house is somewhat of a joke. Not because my husband is a dud, but because every single one of our Valentine's for the first several years were somehow interrupted. Maybe we should celebrate it early. Heaven knows we could!

In early September perhaps even sooner, I remember seeing Halloween stuff for sale. Before July 4th, I remember school supplies going up on display. Seriously? Why so soon!!! yeah, I know it's about marketing. Blah blah. But give me a break! Do you really need to be shoving Valentine's Day down my throat 2 days after Christmas? Does this mean on February 15th I will find Saint Patrick's Day goodies?

I used to work at the Jelly Belly Factory. Yeah, I got free candy--of which I chose the chocolates. No, I really don't care for Jelly Bellies, but I do prefer them to the traditional jelly bean. When I worked there, I remember distinctly that in August the Christmas candies were being made. In October, it was the Valentine's stuff. In December it was Easter. And so on. So yeah, the candy isn't all that fresh. But since it has a fairly decent shelf life it's safe to eat it.

I don't know about you all, but I really don't want to think about Valentine's Day just yet. I still have Christmas stuff out. And really do not want to think about swimsuit weather. I am about 40 pounds away from that!!! Is it just me, or are they putting these seasonal items out much too soon. Why not keep them all out year round? How about a store that specializes only in seasonal items, but it has them all...all the time!!! Think about it. Christmas and summer side by side. Halloween and Easter are now neighbors! You heard it here first.

because everything is NOW. Yesterday is forgotten, Kind of sad really.

I like the idea of the season stores with everything together being friends. Fun. Haha.

I hate that they change the clothe so soon! Luckily where we live, you don't need winter stuff as much so you can survive.. but seriously what happens to those in cold climates at the end of January when they desperately need to buy something warm??
But this is a great time to find some screaming deals... I had better head to JCPennys soon.
I know what you mean... I went to Walmart the day after christmas... because I have totally lost my mind... and they had already cleared out tons of stuff for Valentine's Day.

It's all madness. Swimsuits in January. Only in the Bahamas. Some stupid CEO that has his trust fund in the Azores plans this all out.

I always figure that the swimsuits are out right now for all the lucky people who are going on cruises. :) I totally agree about all the stuff being out too soon. My kids actually get upset when they see Christmas stuff out in September alongside the Halloween stuff.

Amen, I had the same thoughts when I went shopping this week! I did buy and Easter plate while I was out though, so maybe I'm not as Anti as I thought I was ;)
Preach it sister! I was at Hobby Lobby the other day to check out the after Christmas deals and they had all their Valentine's stuff out. And we've got the swim stuff for sale here, too.

I totally agree. It gets even more annoying when you go to buy a swimsuit in May and they are totally gone. Because you have to get them in February, didn't you know?

A little part of me wonders that if they keep putting things up earlier and earlier if one day there will be Christmas, Halloween and Easter stuff up all at the same time. . .
I don't mind if they have stuff displayed early as long as there are sales of other seasonal items.

I just put my Christmas stuff up Sunday morning because we invited a family of nine for dinner. Already dropped the ball and procrastinated one day = (

January swimsuit sales, hmm. I don't even like the thought of me in a swimsuit in June = P
