If You Give A Mom A Moment...

I am following on Emmy's coattails, and I am going to participate in this writing prompt from Mama's Losin' it! I have just now decided that, "Mama's Losin' It" will be my stolen...errr...borrowed...creed. I have had a crazy couple of days. Today was craziest of the two. I have been up for nearly 16 hours now, on about 5 hours of sleep. In those 16 hours I think I have spent a total of 4 non collective hours at home. So, without any further ado....

If you give a mom a moment...she might catch her breath.
If she catches her breath, she might be able to think more clearly.
If she can think more clearly, she might remember why she went into the garage in the first place.
If she remembers that she was supposed to be getting the meat out of the freezer, she will also remember that the milk needed to be replaced.
If she remembers the milk needs replacing she will remember that the cereal is low.
If she remembers that the cereal is low she will remember that the dishes haven't been washed since last night.
If she remembers the dishes haven't been washed since last night, she will remember that she is out of paper towels.
If she remembers she is out of paper towels, she will remember that she needs to call for a dentist appointment.
If she remembers to call for a dentist appointment, she will remember that she needs that she needs a moment...a moment to....she will a need a moment to...."Hey, why the heck am I standing in the garage anyway!?"

To all my sisters who have been there and done that! I love you all. On those days when you can't seem to get it together, remember to give yourself a moment...to catch your breath....it's okay to breathe now and then.

That's so true and so well put. I have been needing a moment to breathe for weeks and today I took it. Well, I took an entire day to breathe, after the stresses that have been my life the past few months I needed a day to slow down and just relax. I am glad I took it too, because now I feel like I can be human again and enjoy my family and love them. I also took the challenge, but I chose to write about what I would focus on if I could only focus on 3 things, it really helped me to see that I need to stop worrying about all the things I've been worried about and just start focusing on the three things that matter most to me. I am so thankful and grateful for those three things and I'm lucky to have them. Nothing else really matters that much. I look forward to your next post.

LOVE it! Every mom has felt that way at least once (and me, at least once a day...)

Great post! Yes, how many times do we start something only to end up doing ten different things. No wonder why I never get anything done :)
Yes, breath :)

And remember that your blog buddies will still be here if you have to take a breather now and again :)

I have so been there. About once a day. It is very common to hear me say: "Why did I come in here?"

I would like to say get a bottle of water and sit in the car and read...or even with a flashlight in a closet. Problem is, either you will be found,and/or the stuff still goes on. Then when you return you will still find yourself standing in the garage wondering what you are doing there. Yep..just breathe, most of it is just "stuff" anyway.
