Smiles Aren't Always Necessary
I am novice, to say the least behind the camera. I have observed my sister over the years, who not only has an incredible knack, but she has taken courses and worked professionally. I took this one of my daughter on Easter Sunday. I am quite pleased with it. I have captured some wonderful smiles over the years, but sometimes smiles aren't always necessary.

Yes, you are right sometimes lack of smiles are even prettier.
Try taking pictures in the late afternoon almost evening, the lighting then is almost always perfect so it makes for great shots almost every time.
There's a poor sad me! hahahaha
no one is always smiling unless they are hiding something.
Wow, I'm having flashbacks to a certain theater class...
