Friday Five

Image
I am linking up with my bestie, Emmy for Friday Five.  And you all thought I was going to miss this week of blogging entirely.  Oh ye of little faith!  ;)  The hard part starts next month when I attmpt to blog TWICE a week! 1.  It rained last week.  That's a really big deal here in S. CA.  Such a big deal that kids and grown ups alike will actually stand at the window and stare at it. 2.  Kristin and her friend a dog on one of those rainy days.  This was no ordinary dog.  The poor dear was missing a leg.  She was very sweet.  Happily, between a FB friend and her work with a rescue worker we were able to reunite the dog with her family. 3.  I wasn't going to watch the Oscars, but I did.  I had more fun tweeting than watching.  And I totally loved the pizza guy.  He had no idea. 4.  I had a really bad day on Monday.  We all do.  They just suck when they happen.  It w...

Friday Five

Image
So remember a couple of days ago when I linked up with my bestie, Emmy for Ten Things to Smile about?   Well I am doing it again today for Friday Five!  Sharing five thoughts and five pics for the week...so here I go... 1.  I posted it on FB, but I will say it again here...my daughters are awesome.  They don't ask for much.  They let me hang out with them.  My oldest lets me fangirl with her.  They are both talented in so many ways.  Creative, funny, and enough love to wrap around the world twice.  Yep.  They are pretty freaking awesome girls. 2.  My SIL posted a pic of her and her brothers when they were little kids.  My husband was probably 7 or 8 tops.  It just is freaky how much our son looks like him.  Okay freaky is the wrong word here.  It's actually a good thing.  But you can look at that boy, and look at that man and say...yep!  Then hold a a photo of the man when he was a...

February's Smiles

Image
Oh my goodness!  Is February already over???  I know it is a short month, but it really went by fast.  So I have been doing pretty good with writing once a week.  This week it is Ten Things to Smile about with my Bestie Emmy . 1.  So remember I got to see CORIOLANUS with Tom Hiddleston?  It was extraordinary!  In that play there was a scene where one of the characters (a male) kisses Coriolanus full on the mouth.  Not only did the character (Coriolanus kind of go "Dude, what?" but the characters were like, Eeeeww!) So were we.  LOL.  Half the fandom is little girls.  They went nuts thinking that Tom was gay!  So I got snarky and made this... Made my day!  Of course he is straight.  No duh. 2.  I got my haircut...that is always a major event as I go with my mom and we usually go to lunch after.  We love our hairdresser too.  She is a character. 3.  We celebrated my nephew's birt...

Throwing People Under the Bus

Raised to believe you would one day be a King, and then to be told you were adopted!  Oh and get this, you don't get to be King.  (You little snot!)  Your brother is better.  Geez, even fictional families are messed up! If you have no idea who I was just talking about, it's all good...I am merely demonstrating a a point.  Look at The Little Mermaid.  Girl wants to marry a guy and the only reason she knows his name is because she heard someone say it.  Props to King Triton for telling her NO!  What was she thinking!?  I mean it all works out in the end. Look at Harry Potter...that kid is an orphan in the most deplorable of family situations.  His Aunt and Uncle should be throat punched.  He has more family in his friends than anywhere else. What's my point?  So glad you asked.  Although, you might not be.  I am more and more becoming disenchanted with my family.  The one I grew up with.  The one I am ra...

Friday Five: Cookies and Science

Image
Once upon time, I blogged and read blogs faithfully.  I even had a heatlhy following here in my little corner of the world.  I am not sure why I stopped blogging and reading but I am horribly out of the habit.  So I asked my bestie, Emmy what was up on Friday's and sadly because I am a bad friend I was clueless.  Well, now I am up to speed and ready to play.  So here goes... 1.  I lost a little over a pound this past week.  I sure it doesn't find me.  I am really struggling.  I know I can do it.   2.  It has been warm again this week.  I feel bad for my friends back East who are getting dumped on with piles of snow and ice.  Stay toasty my friends. 3.  I went to lunch with my mom and sister this week...and let's just say people were probably wondering what we were really drinking.  It must have been the Pepsi(puke) because I never carry on like that in public.  Ever. 4.  We saw th...

Shakespeare, Coriolanus, Tom Hiddleston, and a lot of Drama

Image
A few months ago, I got wind of my celebrity man crush doing live theatre.  Not only was he doing live theatre, he was doing Shakespeare.  I have been a fan of Mr. Shakespeare since I was in high school.  I remember the first play I saw, it was Twelfth Night.  From that point on I was hooked. The language is so beautiful, and when you see it acted it brings it to life in the most brilliant way.  The only other way I can describe it is that moment in Pretty Woman when she is watching The Opera and she is hooked and in awe of it.  Yeah, like that.  I have never perfomed myself...because I LIKE it...I don't want to defile it!  All right, perhaps it wouldn't be THAT bad... but it wouldn't be too pretty either.  Okay...back on track...man crush...he was to play the title role in...Corio...what....Coriolanus.  I don't know this one.  How many plays can you name besides Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth?  Off the top my hea...
