DWTS

Tonight the dancers all get to dance a second dance before elimination.  I think they should do this every time.  It gives certain folks *cough* Wendy Williams *cough a chance to step up their game and get votes.  But even your favorite to win needs your votes.  Don't assume they will win because they HAVE the vote.  They still need yours.  Now, in case you were wondering where in the world is Derek Hough.

Photobucket

Derek is said to be making a movie called Cobu.  A love story centered around... dance!  It is set to be released summer of 2012.  Derek should be returning in the fall.

Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunskya 1-800-868-3406

Sugar Ray and Anna are dancing The Jive and he asked, "what is the jive?"  Is he serious???  He is older than me and I know what it is.  During rehearsal, Sugar Ray fell right on his butt.  It's not funny.  But I laughed.  As I watched them dance, I felt like it was  Anna doing the leading.

Len told him that tonight they had to make the most of it, and based on that performance he is in jeopardy.  He got lots of boos for that.  To which he replied, "Talk to the hand!"  He went onto say that Sugar Ray is one of his favorites, but that the performance lacked refinement. Still entertaining though.

Bruno said it was sweet and pleasant, and that he needed more punch in his feet than his hands.  I guess that would be tough for a boxer.

Carrie Ann said that just watching his face it was a 10. She went on to tell him that the lower half of his body was a little stodgy.  "When you box it is sharp and pristine, we need that on the dance floor."  I agree.  Especially in this dance that has to be precise.

Kendra Wilikinson and Louis Van Amstel 1-800-8683407

Kendra and Louis have The Quick Step.  She is sporting a big bruise on her leg.  It was purple from what I could tell.   She broke down a bit during rehearsal feeling the pressure of something so foreign to her.  She really is more Tom-Boy than all girlie.  She comes to rehearsal in t-shirts and shorts and no make up.  None.  I thought she did all right.  She improved from last week.  Which is the idea.

Bruno admired her for trying so hard, but emphasized that it has to look effortless.  It looked very tight he told her, and her lines were wrong.  But she got props for her efforts.

Carrie Ann noted how she can learn choreography so well, but pointed out that elegance is a state of mind.  "I want to see more."  I think Kendra can do it.

Len told her that her posture was hit or miss and that her "Chesticles" were hitting poor little Louis.  "Overall I thought you did an excellent job. I  rahter enjoyed it."  Yes, Len we know you enjoyed her "chesticles" performance.

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas 1-800-868-3401

Chelsea and Mark are dancing The Jive.  During rehearsal Mark had an almost weird obsession with mussing Chelsea's hair.  He is an incorrigible flirt!  Mark wants to push the envelope and be daring with their jive.  This early in the game, he should know better that this is not a good choice.  Dressed as mimes, they came through doors to start off their dance.  Len will not be pleased.

Carrie Ann said that there is a time for choreography but this was not it. She said she liked the dance, but it wasn't a ballroom jive.

Len began with saying that it was fun and entertaining if he were sitting at home, but he's not at home.  He did not like the doors and said there was "too much messing about."  He scolded Mark for doing Chelsea a disservice because she has fantastic potential.

Bruno said,  "I actually like the weird and wonderful side of it.  I can not completely disagree but I enjoyed it."

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke 1-800-868-3409

Chris and Cheryl danced the Quick Step.  Chris has terrible posture in rehearsal, so Cheryl puts him in the bar.  Imagine holding a bent broomstick across your shoulders.  Posture is key in this dance.  And Cheryl was being fierce.  But in a good way.  Her fierce training paid off because he did very well.  And he was yet another to improve.  After the dance, he removed his hat and placed on Len's head.  It was a perfect moment.

Len said, "I  take my hat off to you." As he took off the hat then proceeded to say."Now don't take it personal, but I thought you would be a big lumbering lump, but instead you were bright breezy fun and had a good frame.  Great job!"

Bruno said he likes a man who responds well to discipline.  He told him that he even got his "bum" under control.

Carrie Ann said he was light on his feet. And that he was "Graceful.  Amazing.  And compact!" Then she added that she liked the bum right where it is.

Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin 1-800-868-3404

Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin are dancing The Jive.  Petra, is to say the least, tentative about the tricks that go with the jive.  Trust is the key element in this dance.  To help her overcome her fears, Dmitry puts her on a trampoline.  She was scared with that as well.  As a result, I felt she was stiff and cautious during her jive.

Bruno liked how she went from uptown girl to "floozy"  at the drop of a hat. (She ditched the hat and half her dress to reveal bikini top and red fringe short skirt.) He advised her to really work on her core strength and said that her performance was great.

Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno about the core, and told Petra that she was also very impressed.  I just wasn't.  I mean it was good...her legs are very long and that is a hindrance in this dance.

Len liked the long legs--duh- and short skirt--double duh, but was not impressed with her technique and felt her legs, though nice were wobbly.  He liked the performance though.

Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy 1-800-868-3411

Kirstie and Maks have the Quick Step this week, and Kirstie wants to make sure she isn't getting the "light" version of the dance.  She wants the same dance that a skinny young girl would get.  Maks assures her she is.  She wants to win that mirror ball trophy, but even more so she wants to lose 40 pounds and she figures she has to stick around to the end to do it.  Well Kirstie, keep doing what your doing and you just might do both!  She closed the dance planting a big wet one on Maks.  Classic.

"You are so in your element.  I love watching you dance!!"Carrie Ann shouted.  She went onto say that Kirstie is so aware of every move and that the connection between her and Maks is unstoppable.

Len told her it was mostly light and fluffy but she lost her energy.  "It was good but not great."  I thought she did great!  Take your happy pill Len!

Bruno said she has a great talent. He told her she started beautifully, but then she started to wilt.  He claimed she didn't regain the energy she had. I disagree Bruno.  I say she brought it again!

"Psycho" Mike Catherwood and Lacey Schwimmer 1-800-868-3410

OMG what ISN'T Lacey wearing?  Hoochie Mama?  *Ahem*  Mike wants to blow his mad dance skills in Bruno and Len's faces.  And to make up for messing up he brought Lacey flowers.  The man sadly has no rhythm.  But from one week to the next, he showed improvement.

Len confirms my own thoughts telling Mike he did detter than last week. Then added that he looked a wasp at a picnic.  Does that mean people would be swatting at him?

Bruno said that some moments were very very good, but that sometimes he looked like a fly stuck on flypaper.  Hmmm.  Another bug reference.  Is Mike a pest?

Carrie Ann said that when he was side by side with Lacey he looked great but that he had to be consistent.  And a little less turned in.  Yeah his toes seriously point inward.

 Romeo and Chelsie Hightower  1-800-868-3405

Romeo and Chelsie have the Quick Step and Chelsie wants to make Romeo a gentleman.  This is going to be quite the challenge with him as he was rehearsing without his shirt!  Is this a cheap tactic for votes?  Ugh.  Give it a rest, Romeo.  Rely on skill please.  He did pretty good, but was still flat footed at times.

Bruno told him he was the one to watch from cheeky fun to sexy. He said there was ease of movement but that he needs to work on his posture. And he called him a brilliant dancer.  Well I wouldn't go that far, Bruno.

Carrie Ann surprisingly behaved herself telling him he had a  certain style, but aslso advised that he work on his posture and to "Let it loose."

Len said,  "No wonder we've got global warming with the hot air you two(Carrie Ann and Bruno) blow out"  Then he called it the best dance of the night. (Is he pyshic)

Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani 1-800-868-3402

Wendy Williams and Tony are dancing the Quick Step.  Wendy is concerned about her chest causing problems with all that running and bouncing.  I feel your pain, Wendy...well maybe not as much as her.  She has a big chest.  Despite her bosom she made a good improvement as well.  Sadly I do think she is in jeopardy.

Carrie Ann thanked her and said,  "That is what we wanted to see!" She told her she lost a little steam in the middle, and caught it back.  A good job.

Len simply said it was an improvement from last week.

Bruno said it was good to see a little bit of who she really is. But he said she needed more movement.  Shake what the Lord gave you Wendy!

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff 1-800-868-3408

Ralph and Karina are dancing the jive, and I figured out where that worn out Ralph picture came from.  Yep.  Jive rehearsals.  He was getting beyond frustrated with himself, and brought in his family for their unbiased opinions.  It's weird enough to think my teenage crush who adorned my walls for two years is going to be FIFTY this year, but he has been married for nearly 25 years and has KIDS!  Kids who are TEENAGERS.  They were honest with him and told him to loosen up and not think about it so much.  Well he had a lot to live up to.  They were top of the leader board right out of the gate.  That is a lot of pressure.  Their jive was superior to Chelsea and Mark's only because it was more on the regulations of a ballroom jive.  Fun and "cheeky."

Len said that it was okay, but that he over did it.  (boo) He went on ignoring the audience saying that he attacked it too much and got a bit frenzied.(More booing). Well what do you expect Len??  I do know that the judges will be harder on the ones who can do better.

Bruno told him he has a huge likability factor and that he is very pleasing to watch.  I agree here.  He is an entertainer through and through and he has done Broadway.  But, Bruno pointed out that the jive requires timing.  I guess that means his was off?  Hmmm....maybe I need to watch his dance again.  I thought he did good, but then the judges push harder on the ones who can do better.

Carrie Ann told him if he wants to continue he needs to be a little sharper. And she added, "You are so much fun to watch!"

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson 1-800-868-3403

Hines and Kym danced The Quick Step and during their rehearsal they spend a little time teaching each other their way of speaking.  I am not sure which was funnier him trying to sound Australian or her trying to sound street.  Their Quick Step was smooth and light.  It amazes me when these football players can be so light on their feet.

Bruno said he was a fabulous and smooth dancer. He said he lead with ease and confidence. And that he likes the fine details he put in.

Carrie Ann said that  Emmet (Smith) may have to retire his title of "Twinkle Toes." and that she loved it.

Len simply said, "Your frame was terrific.  I was very impressed.  Well done."

Sounds like they didn't do as good overall as last week, but the jive while a totally fun dance can be pretty hard.

It seems weird to me that Kendra is a Tom Boy and lived in the playboy mansion... um... hello!!!

I was surprised that Petra had never been on a trampoline before... seriously??

Kirstie surprises me... in a good way though!

I like Lacy but her hair needs HELP!!

Poor Ralph getting stuck with Karina... I don't really care for Karina...

& I think Hines does an awesome job! He should be in the top!!

I knew Mike would go home early too but I really thought it would be Wendy - ugh. We'll have to watch another week of awkwardness (I guess I shouldn't be so mean).

can you believe Ralph Macchio - He's good. I can't believe he is 50 either.

I am missing both the Hough's they were always my favorite pro's!!

Great Review as always! I love that picture of Kristie Alley kissing Maks! lol I guess she took the dance to a whole other level, go her for going all out!

I can't believe the Karate Kid is going to be 50. He was my crush too! Weird, I feel so old now!

Some of them are definitely more stiff than others. I think Kirstie Alley is one of the smoother dancers there.

Somebody seriously needs to hire you as a "reviewer". Yup. These are that good!
I agree with Linda you do a wonderful job!!!
I felt all of them improved ...I wasn't surprised by the bottom 3 but was hopeful that Williams would of gone first.
