Orange You Glad...

Jenny Matlock
When Kristin was just about 2 or 3 years old, she became obsessed with knock knock jokes.  I can't remember what started it.  Surely, it wasn't me!  I am positive it had to have been from Elmo or Blue.  Or one of her other friends at the time.  I would tell her all the normal ones.  "Knock Knock" "Who's there?"  "Water."  Water who?"  "water you doing?" Etc.  But my favorite was to tell her the orange the joke!  You know the one...
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana
Banana Who?
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana Who?
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange Who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana!?

Kristin had her own variation...

Knock knock
Who's there?
Banana
Banana Who?
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana
Banana Who?
Knock knock
Who's there?
Orange
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say PEACH!

Best joke ever!!!

And now my friends....it is time for fact or fiction....

1.  I didn't get my license until I was 21.  True.  It seemed every time I went to take my driver's test, something would come up,  or happen and it would get post poned.  I also broke my leg some where in there.  Kind of hard to drive like that!  But when I finally took the test I was 21.

2.  I failed the driver's test three times.  Not me.  Passed the very first time.  I'm an excellent driver. ;)
3.  I have never got a ticket.   To date I have never received a ticket, though I came very close one day.  I was a lot younger, and thinner.  I was pulled over for speeding.  I had not really seen the sign anywhere indicating the limit.  I was going 12 over.  Ooops.  The cop was stern with me.  I was scared out of my mind and very obedient.  You know, do not speak unless you are spoken to.  No sir and yes sir.  He let me off with a warning.  I guess he had met his quota and I didn't piss him off.  Oh and maybe he was in a good mood.  Who knows.  I was let go.  Whew.

Ready....

1.  I once stormed out of a classroom
2.  I once openly chastised a teacher
3.  I once led a protest in school.

they tell the best jokes when they are little!!

And I think you are lying about openly chastising a teacher.

That is a great joke.. My guess is the storming out of the classroom, you were too busy telling the teacher how it is to leave. :)

Love the joke! It was the title that got me to stop by!
I think it is number 3!
Hmmm.. I'm going to go with "openly chastized a teacher" because someone who is that polite to cops is probably that polite to teachers?? But really I have no idea. You're really good at this.

My kids love to tell jokes too. But I don't think Def Comedy Jam will be calling our house any time soon!

I'm thinking you didn't led a protest.

Having been an RN for a number of years on child psych units, I must have been told every knock knock joke in the book!! Those I didn't hear there, my three sons told me.

At 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

I haven't got a ticket either, but it's because I haven't got caught..yet..lol
It's a timeless joke. We remember telling it and we remember our kids and grandkids telling it. :)

Have a great weekend,

LOLA:)

PS Mine this time is HERE. Hope you can stop by.
Great story about the joke! Isn't it wonderful how children can often come up the funniest things?

I'll go with #2 as the lie.

You've never had a ticket? I can't count how many I've had though not in a long time. *knocks on wood*

Ah, all my children have gone through the banana/orange joke phase. I am finally at my last one and I know I will miss its silliness that makes me laugh every time. Great post.

What a great orange post from little militant you!

That is my favorite joke...well right next to the duck flying upside down one...

The pictures were adorable, too!

I love that knock knock joke!
I must be the one getting all of your tickets! Just got a $300 one for driving w/o my lights on while my windshield washers were on. (during the day). I had no idea that was a law!

This truth or lie is hard...hmmm I may get this one wrong! I'll go with #1 as the lie.
