Time Out Tuesday?
A friend of mine, Amy from Involuntary Smiles, has created her own Meme. She calls it "Time Out Tuesday." She wants us to take time out for ourselves and then share what we did. I love this idea, mostly because it gives us incentive to be good to ourselves. And really shouldn't we always do this?? She will be hosting this Meme each Tuesday and keeps the linky open til Saturday. You can link up any day until then.
Monday was our last day of Spring break. I did a lot of running around and was very thankful for leftovers. I watched Dancing with the Stars, and that, for me is a treat. It was also all I was capable of.
Tuesday I have a standing "just for me" appointment. I go to Weight Watchers. It is how I have lost 30 pounds and fully intend on losing 10 more. I go and weigh in, and sit in the meeting with my amazing leader. I always laugh and have a good time. This week, after WW, I wanted to go to Ross to look for some capris. It occurred to me as we were about to hit 90 + temps that I have no shorts. None. I gave them to my mom. She wouldn't have any either if I had not done this. You see, we are so good to ourselves that we are getting healthier. Collectively we have lost over 70 pounds!! Anyderail, we ended up not at Ross, but Burlington Coat Factory instead. It's dangerous in there! I tried on a lot of clothes. It was lots of fun. And because I truly needed clothes, I treated myself to this outfit.

I got out of there before buying the wallet. It doesn't always have to be something to be bought. Although I do admit, that is lots of fun!! It can be other types of reward. Another such reward was a new appointment I have set for myself. Wednesday mornings. On Wednesday mornings I will be going walking with my BF Emmy! We did it for the first time yesterday. We had a blast. Fun while exercising? Who knew? Which reminds me of Friday's. This is MY Zumba day. I Zumba with my mom. We have a great time there. Lots of laughing. Mostly at ourselves. As I thought about this post, I was surprised at how much I am finally taking care of me. If I take care of me, I will be a better wife and mother. I liken it to the emergency instructions on the airplanes. When those oxygen masks fall, who are we supposed help first? OURSELVES! We can't help our children if we are lacking oxygen. Yes, we want to save our babies and our mind is brought to their needs and lives. But we must be able to help them, and to do that we need to take care of ourselves first.
What have you done for yourself?

Love love the capris and the purse!!
I didn't Zumba at all this week. Hm...
I haven't figured out how to take care of myself in a way that doesn't involve giving up more sleep. I'm sure if I actually exercised, I'd sleep better, but giving up another hour of sleep in the morning to exercise hasn't been working for me.
cute outfit and purse!!
I love the overall message of this post!
I think we have a Ross here. Now I need to investigate it!
