I Am Bad

Image
I am BAD!  Bad bad bad! I tell you!  Here is why:  I do not volunteer at my kids' schools.  I don't want to.  Is that wrong?  I know there are teachers who read this. I am sorry, but I am that parent.  Now, when it comes to my own kid, you have my full attention.  Talk to me.  I will work with you to help her succeed.  I will send notes when I have a question.  I am not a pest, I won't get in your face.  You are the teacher.  But please, don't ask me to volunteer.  I am not cut from that cloth.  I like my quiet time.  I am bad because I am already planning my evenings for TV viewing.  Wondering how I can fit that in with blogging. Priorities people!  There are a lot of new shows on this seasons.  I know I could do so much more than watch prime time TV.  But by the time night falls, it's about all my sad brain can handle. I am bad because I stay too late.  Every. Stinking. Nigh...

On The Red Carpet....

h On the red carpet is none other than CA Girl to accept her award....Life is Good from Nikki at Simple Living in a Big City!   And now for her acceptance speech... First of all I would like thank Miss Nikki for thinking of me for this award!  It seriously made my day.  In accepting this award, I have agreed to answer 10 questions... 1) If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now? I do not blog anonymously, nor do I intend to.  If I can't be straight with you all what's the point? 2) Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side. I'm not stubborn! I'm not! I'm not! I'm not!  3) What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror? Honestly it depends on the day.  Sometimes I see a very tired worn out person, and other times I see someone who knows what she is doing...that day! 4) What is your favorite summer col...

Before Kids I...

Image
I was over at Mama Kat's reading her post of the day, and one of the first things that came to my mind was, "before I had kids...."  And I thought it might be fun to share some of those thoughts with you today. Before I had kids, I could never understand why...no...HOW mothers could let their kids run around with their hair all askew.  I mean really haven't they heard of these little things called brushes.  Don't laugh.  I said, "BEFORE." After I had kids, I realized very early on that it does not matter how nice they look when you are done brushing their hair, because 10 seconds later it looks like they just rolled out of bed. Before I had kids, I couldn't stand to see babies without shoes or socks in the winter.  What are you thinking!?  I even would feel this way after the teen was born. After I had Little Middle, I realized some babies simply do not like things on their feet.  And from the time she was born I could not keep socks on her...

Some things just tick me off.  When my naturally straight as straight can be hair starts to get curly we have had way too much rain.  Would some one please tell me where all the underwear my kids wear disappears to? It's almost as frustrating as the socks that never return from the wash! I didn't know cats liked bacon.  Feels stupid and contagious. Pitstop since I have b...

Dec. 12, 2012

Image
Have you seen the movie 2012?   I watched it for the first time tonight.  If you are like me--unable to get out much--it's about the end of the world based on the calendar of the Mayan's.   Their prediction is that the world will have catastrophic events all over as the planets align.  Lots of action,  problems I have with how communication is maintained, but I would watch it again...hey I like John Cusack.  If you haven't seen Better off Dead or Say Anything, please...do!  So what is it I am asking exactly?  Nothing too heavy...in fact totally obvious...the world as we know it coming to an end...what are you going to do?   Me?  I am boring I guess...I would eat maybe even gorge myself.  What's the worst that will happen?  I certainly won't have time to get fat!

I Stood Frozen

Image
I am once again participating in Jenny Matlocks, Saturday Centus.  This is where she gives a phrase and you have to write using that phrase and only 100 words.  It's not easy.  And neither is today's prompt.  I will do my best to keep it at 100.  I was getting my daughter ready for preschool.  Everything about the morning was normal.  Breakfast for her, me, and the baby.  Our little TV on in the kitchen.  It was Good Morning America.  But that day was not a good morning for America.  At first, I thought a building was being demolished.  Then I heard the reporter utter, "My God."  I stood frozen in front of the flickering images on my TV.   I wanted to call my mother.  I needed to call my husband--who was in the Coast Guard.  I called Rich.  He already knew.  The base was on the highest alert.  I called my mom next.  A horrible day indeed.

Brownie Points

Image
I am trying to earn my brownie points today.  I am going to earn them by participating in Glamazon's weekly confessional! I made Little Middle go to bed without her treasured "Bunny"  A blanket with a bunny head. I left it in the washer. Do you ever do this?  Only to realize at 11 at night you have to put it in the dryer? I put it in the dryer and promised to remember to give it to her--wake her up per her request. I hope I remember this. Remember I forget stuff. I made brownies today. Why did I do that when I want to lose 15 more pounds? My dishes are only half done. I would rather work on my blogs than tend to them. I would also rather sleep for a day or two...you know recharge my batteries But for what point and purpose?  The house would fall apart. So have I earned brownie points today?  How about a brownie? Remember to link up on Tuesday for The Status Quote!  Gather your friends funniest status updates on Twitter/Facebook.  No need...
