I Feel Pretty

Image
Ryan is such a boy! He loves anything that moves, whether it is a train, car, truck. As long as it goes he is a happy camper. Ever since he was baby he would make all his toys go like a car. He would even push a french fry around--still does in fact! Nobody ever taught him this. He has two older sisters who are both very girlie. Even his play is rougher. That, however can be linked to his sisters as they have always wrestled and played rough with him. Why? Because he is a boy? Or because they didn't know better, and now he is used to rough play. I don't know the answer. I do know that he is all boy. And part of being a boy who is surrounded by females he is bound to get into stuff. He once painted his eye brows with nail polish. He has covered himself with a princess stamp. And most recently he found his way into Mama's make up. Isn't he pretty? I think this will be one of many blackmail pictures in the years to come. You know the one I can show to hi...

Should I Be Scared?

Image
We are currently out of printer ink, in fact we have been for a while now. Ink for our printer runs about $50 to $60. In the last few days, my husband has been looking for places with the best deals for our ink. What he has found instead are new printers that would cost less even after buying additional ink than our ink costs. Now this isn't what scares me. No, what scares me is one of the reviews he found. " Okay i just bought this printer yesterday right...so today i was scanning some pictures...so i press da scanner botton ..and it didnt scan. So i tried it on the lexmark software thingy..it didnt scan or nuttin. So to myself im thinkin dis suppose to be a good product..omg NO ITS NOT..." This review comes from a woman supposedly age 18-24. What does that say for our future? Should I be scared?

I Have A Question

Image
I have decided to introduce a new section for my blog. It is the "I have a question" section. Sometimes, I just have a question that needs answering. And today, I have a question! First, a little background. Last Friday I was making my weekly grocery list. As I wrote it, I sat reclining on my couch. I mean if I can do this comfortably why shouldn't I? No that is not the question. It is coming. After I finished my list, I sat up and attempted to put the recliner back in its "upright" position. Upon doing this, it got stuck and I heard a horrible crunch. Sometimes things get caught under the recliner: a shoe, a blanket and sadly sometimes a toy has met its untimely demise. I quickly let the couch go back into recline and got down to have a "looksee." To my dismay there lay my cell phone. I've had it for 3 years now and it has been dropped many many times. But this time was not good. My phone is a clam shell phone with a small lcd screen...

Bed Rest

Image
Bed rest is usually something you hear when a woman is pregnant and has to stay in bed to keep the pregnancy going. It's also likely the only time that woman will ever have "bed rest". As a mother of three, and a wife of one, I do not have the luxury of bed rest. Is it because I do not allow myself that luxury? Am I not worth the time spent in bed to allow my body to heal so that I am stronger and able to care for my family? Well of course I am, but in the real world, moms just don't have time for that kind of vacation. And frankly, if that is how I get one I'd just as soon forget the vacation. Sometimes we simply do not have the choice and we have to perform the basic duties of the day because we are the only ones there. I am not on my death bed...yet. Drama queen? Me? No way. I do have to be extremely ill to stay in bed. For one thing, I have control issues. See my previous post, "A Grand Adventure." I also know the house will fall apar...

A Grand Adventure

Image
My daughter was invited to a party. A party for her friend who is in her drama class. A party for a girl turning 12. The party began at 3:10 immediately following dismissal of school on Friday. Transportation, the gynormus stretch Hummer limo seen here, arrived on site right at 3:15. As one can guess, it drew a large crowd, and that was not limited to those invited to this event. The limo would take the girl and her guests out to Anaheim to visit an indoor kart racing place. My daughter bowed out of this one, despite the responsible adults choosing a kid friendly version of the karts. More power to her! They stayed at the Marriot in a suite. Today they will walk across the street with the responsible adults to the mall and shop around. I will never be able to give my daughter anything remotely like this. Not many of us can, I dare say. I am glad she was invited to this party. what a grand adventure for someone so young. She had her phone(of course) and I told her to text m...

Private Concert

Image
Have you ever been treated to a private concert? I was just yesterday. Sure the performer was only 3 and the drum was really an inflatable stool, but isn't that what make believe is all about? He treated us to a guitar solo as well. Before the private concert there was a big concert where he and his sister used the marble entry way as their stage. Ryan on the drums and Emily on lead guitar. The song...errr songs began. I say songs not because there were more than one, but because there was more than one at the same time. While Ryan happily sang his own made up song, Emily belted out her one of her favorite Miley Cyrus songs. Maybe it was Hannah Montana. Same difference right? Even she(Miley) admits to being confused by it sometimes. I digress. It was a treat. It brought me back to my days of play and make believe. It was then, that I started to wonder where all that goes. It's kind of sad really that we feel so uncomfortable with something that once came natural...

The Eye of the Storm

Image
One day when I was about 11 or 12 years old, the day started out to be a nice day. It was a spring day I believe complete with a blue sky and a slight breeze. There were some clouds in the sky floating lazily along. Then out of no where it seemed, the skies suddenly turned dark and ominus. The breeze changed from light to nearly gale force. Leaves and other things that had found places to rest on the ground were now actually spinning around. Before my friend and I could scramble inside, there was lightening, thunder and rain. That day, a tornado touched down just 7 miles from my home in the happiest place on earth! That's right. It hit Disneyland. It was surreal. Tornadoes were not supposed to strike in Southern Ca. And yet, one had. In the blink of an eye. Today, my life felt much like a tornado. It came without warning. They always do. Even with all wonderful technology they still can not predict a tornado. The clouds were already dark and looming as my day began...
