DWTS--Motown Night
It is Motown Night, and Smoky Robinson, Martha Reid, and The Temptations are guesting for them. Is it just because they have never done it before or is because Gladys Knight is on this season. Whatever. Not only will they be dancing to Motown, they will be dancing a dance marathon tonight.
First up, none other than: Gladys and Tristan dancing a Rumba to "My Girl." She loves this song, and Tristan gets a musical history lesson from Gladys. Now this would be fun. Oh the stories she could tell! Their Rumba is very nice and clean. Not exactly Rumba material. But it is a good clean dance. And she shines.
Len said that if it came purely from his heart she would be at the top of leader board. He went onto say that she was not the best dancer, but that she was the most charismatic dancer. Appealing.
Bruno said when it comes to her she has undeniable star quality. He told her Motown details were spot on, but that he likes his Rumba's steamier. Bruno you are such a little ManWhore!
Carrie Ann told her that if any night should belong to her, it should have been this night. She said there were a lot of forgetful moments and then Len breaks in with, "If I was at home, I'd be on the phone right now."

Bruno said it was a gleaming blend of sophistication, whit and elegance. He noted that she lost her footing but that caught up brilliantly.
Carrie Ann told her that there was a slip, and it threw her off, but the dance was still excellent.
Len was positively affronted, "I can't believe she said that(Carrie Ann)!" He said that in holds it was correct and formal, and out of holds it was great and free!

Roshon and Chelsie have The Rumba. Remember he is a baby of sorts. Chelsie asked him what sensuality meant. He got a little bashful and answered with "Huggie" Aww what a puppy. He also said he doesn't have the muscles like Donald Driver or the sensuality like William Levy, but he has dedication. For a young man it was not a bad Rumba. in fact it was pretty good actually.
Carrie Ann told him he definitely got a little sexy at the end, but the general movements were a bit over exaggerated. And she finally found one... she told him he pushed Chelsie off the ground in a spin-- A LIFT! She's back! The LIFT NAZI!!!
Len said the movement was clipped and jerky that it felt a like paint by numbers: this goes here, this goes there.
Bruno told him what he lacks in size he makes up in fire. He told him his body naturally wants to hit the beat, but that it is not correct for the Rumba. The performance was great he said.

Katherine and Mark have The Samba and he's pushing her hard this week. Mostly because he knows she can do it. And wow does she ever. She is very good.
Len called her the mid wife because she keeps on delivering.
Bruno said, "Baby baby you can bounce!!"
Carrie Ann told her she let it loose tonight and called it amazing.

Donald and Peta are dancing The Foxtrot. Donald is full of memories his childhood from this week's theme. Peta is on him about his frame. It's a good Fox Trot. I enjoyed it.
Bruno said he was a showman with pizazz, confidence and power. He said, "You should be in the theatre!"
Carrie Ann told him he was in his zone, "I love the way you blended the Motown and the formal holds."
Len said, "Let me tell you. I expected fireworks but you didn't give me that--the audience freaked out with boos and hisses-- ..you exploded!" He went onto say that the routine wasn't as big as his talent.

Melissa and Maks are dancing their first slow one, The Viennese Waltz. She says Maks can be perceived as mean...oh you think? He is a big TURD! She says he just pushes you to do your best. I would like to push him too. Off a bridge. Ahem. Despite his pushing (meanie!) it works for her because the dance is beautiful.
Carrie Ann said she has worked very hard and it is finally paying off. She said her artistry is blossoming. She warned her to watch her shoulders.
Len told her she had great rotation and control, but that she lost a bit of energy, otherwise it went wonderfully well.
Bruno also said she had wonderful rotation and great extended lines. He said she is really going in the right direction!

Jaleel and Kym are dancing the Cha-Cha and Kym tells him to think like a pro now. I have to agree with this. He can do it. He should not rely on performance alone. And wow, he proved himself. It was quite the dance!
Len told him that at week one he thought he was a contender and then things didn't work out and "Now...you're back!"
Bruno exclaimed, "You burned that floor. That was biggest sizzler of the season!"
Carrie Ann told him that you have to bring your A game every time and tonight he did!

William and Cheryl have the Rumba and Cheryl says they (we) expect the dance to have lots of heat. As joke, some one used fog machines during their rehearsal and set off the smoke alarms. It was quite funny. I will say this though, they almost did need those smoke alarms because there is a big difference between a grown man dancing a Rumba and a very young man dancing it. Theirs was very hot.
Bruno at this point needs a cold shower--little Man Whore! He said, "William that was absolute and utter filth! And I loved every minute of it. You two are wild for sex!"
Carrie Ann thanked William on behalf of all the women out there, but she said she didn't think it was his best dance; saying that at times he and Cheryl were a little bit disconnected, and that he is not just a pretty face. He is a beautiful dancer.
Len said that he is physically impressive and that he dances with confidence, but that their Rumba was a little bit raunchy. The audience starts booing him, and he lashes out with, "I don't care what you think!" He said it was good but that was about it.

After all this, all of the dancers return to the dance floor for a Cha Cha marathon. Some of them haven't even danced it yet. Do I remember who? Heck no! Do I wonder how the judges keep track? You bet I do! Potentially a couple can be on the dance floor as long 4 minutes. Wow. Lifts are allowed for this dance segment. From first picked to last standing the couples will get an additional score onto their total ranging from 3 to 10 points.
1. Gladys and Tristan 3 points total points 24
2. Derek and Maria 4 points total 30
3. Roshon and Chelsie 5 pts total 28
4. Melissa and Maks 6 pts total 30
5. Donald and Peta 7 pts total 34
6. Jaleel and Kym 8 pts total 37
7. William and Cheryl 9 points 36
8. Katherine and Mark 10 points 39 points
Len said everyone did a great job and that Katherine and Mark really worked it.
In the bottom two: Roshon & Chelsie and Gladys and Tristan. This meant these couples had to do a dance duel. I still have mixed feelings about this as it gives the judges the final vote. And it was a tie breaking vote tonight. As Gladys is really loved for her appeal and class, but it was Roshon who was saved to dance another week for his spunk.
Thank you Gladys for bringing true class and showmanship to the floor! See you in a few weeks!
