DWTS--Broadway

It's Broadway baby!  What a fun theme night.  Carson Cressley  got to be called in for creative director.  Hey if you can't dance it, teach it!  I was glad he was back to play and help out.

Rob and Cheryl 1-800-868-3402

Rob and Cheryl  dance The Cha Cha from "Jersey Boy."  All I can say is, loosen up Rob.
Len said it was clean precise and had good timing, but that there was no ryhtmn.  "It was all stiff and starchy."
Bruno told Rob that when you do "Broadway" you've got to take it full on!  He called Rob's dance attiquette.
Carrie Ann said that it was not as great as last week, but it had a lot more charisma.   She said he was quite the man on the dance floor, and added that he was a late bloomer.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 7
Bruno: 7
Total: 22

 Nancy and Tristan 1-800-868-3405
Nancy and Tristan are dancing to Spamalot with a  Foxtrot.  Now Nancy is no Kirstie Alley, but she has come a long way.  I enjoy seeing how she challenges herself each week and how she has grown.

Bruno called her Nancy Dance A Lot, with Sir Lancelot.  He said the dance had just the right amount of humor, and that the foxtrot was well done.
Carrie Ann said, "You showed me!"  She called it a show stopper!  Excellent!  Very very good!
Len said it had much more personality, however noted that the foxtrot needs to be in holds more and it wasn't.  (And arguing between Bruno and Len ensued.)

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  9
Len: 7
Bruno: 8
Total: 24

David and Kym 1-800-868-3406

From Grease, David and Kym are dancing The Quick Step.  I thought he was doing pretty good.  And I thought she looked exactly Sandy from Grease!
Carrie Ann said that it is really hard to live up to an iconic classic really well, but as far performance goes they completely lived up to it! She noted that they were out of sync today.  I didn't notice.  Maybe I was too tired.
Len said it was a little rough around the edges, but that it was fun and high energy.
Bruno said that David had the  exuberence and charm of a frisky teemager, but that he went off on the wrong foot.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  8
Len: 7
Bruno: 8
Total: 23

 Rikki and Derek 1-800-868-3411
Rikki and Derek are dancing from Guys and Dolls with a quick step and it is very good.  Rikki is worried about the bar being set by JR, but she is quite a competitor.

Len said that  luck didn't need to  be a lady if you've got talent.  He nitpicks about her head occasionally staying to left, but insists that he loved it.
Bruno told them they had impeccable style, outstanding choreography, and the interpatation was "beyond belief."
Carrie Ann called it beautiful and poetry in motion! "Can anyone say "Tony Award!"

Scores
Carrie Ann:  10
Len: 9 Where's the 10????
Bruno: 10
Total: 29

Chaz and Lacey 1-800-868-3412

Chaz and Lacey dance to The Phatom of Opera with  The Tango.  Lacey is telling him he has to up his game.  Well duh.  He has needed to up his game since week two.  I am not impressed once again.

Bruno called it a different phantom: like a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey.  He said some roles fit certain characters and some don't.
Carrie Ann said she somewhat agreed with Bruno.  She said it was the most aggressive she has seen him, but at week six,  she wanted to see more confidence in the movement quality. And added that Lacey was right.
Len said that the first rule is to get through the routine--and "you did that"  He said it wasn't his best dance.

Scores
Carrie Ann:  7
Len: 6
Bruno: 6
Total:  19

 Hope and Maks 1-800-868-3408

From Rent, Hope and Maks are dancing the Rumba.  She is too calculating.  Or she is too much in her head.  I want her to relax, because I do think she can do it.  She is also very tall and that could be hinderance as well.

Carrie Ann said that she could see all the effort and for the first time she could see Hope relaxing, but sees that it still  goes against her natural fiestiness.
Len said he was at a loss, and added that he has never lost faith in her.  He says there is so much there but it hasn't come out.  He blames her flat boots and Maks for the performance and then words were exchanged.  It got kind of ugly.  Maks said the show was his.  Ummm... no it is not.  Tom steps in and makes everyone shut the h*** up but nicer you know. And let's Bruno speak.
Bruno told  Hope that her performance  worked at times, but told her the Rumba never stops moving.  Hers did.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  7
Len: 6
Bruno: 7
Total: 20

 JR and Karina 1-800-868-3410

JR and Karina do The Quick Step from Chicago.  Karina uses very difficult choreography.  And together they wow the crowd and the judges alike.  It's a great performance.

Len calls him truly relentless and even compared him to Helio Castroneves who won with Julianne Hough in Season 5.
Bruno exclaimed it was a hit!
Carrie Ann awarded another Tony.

Scores:
Carrie Ann:  10
Len: 9 Seriously Len, do you hide your 10's?
Bruno: 10
Total: 29

The group dance was from Cabaret.  And it was awesome.  Nerdy me would love to do something exactly like that.  To be in a big production number like that.  What fun that must have been.  No scores were given, just comments.

Len called it a fitting tribute to Broadway.
Bruno loved every minute of it...though you could hardly tell it by his actions which spoke much louder than his words.
Carrie Ann loved seeing all of their personalities coming out.

And who is going home?  Despite the ugly drama, Hope and Maks are not going home.   This week it is:  Chaz and Lacey.
