Hey Verizon...YOU SUCK
Do you believe in signs? I do. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted I to post about today. Was I going to confess today as usual, or was I going to blow off some steam? Well when I visited Mimi over at Living in France I knew had to gripe and then I would feel a lot better.
Last month I got an iPhone. Wow do I love this toy. Let's face it, it's more than just a phone. It's a toy. If it wasn't a toy, the kids wouldn't ask to "play" with it. Something was going wrong with my old phone. It wasn't keeping time. The outer screen would lock but not unlock. It would keep a charge for days, it would only keep a charge for one day. I didn't have to get the iPhone. But I wanted it. I was told it would be put on the phones bill and that I could make payments. "As long as you are making payments it is fine." All right sounds good.
After a month of enjoying my new toy, my husband has developed envy for a better phone. And so has our daughter. Well we have been looking around at deals. We found a good one for our daughter. The phone we found was free. Perfect. Except according to VERIZON we are now delinquent in our payments. But how can that be? I just paid a third of that bill plus the regular bill a week ago. It even shows that I made that payment and yet we are past due??? What the heck????
People, we spent two days calling Verizon and talking with about 6 different people. Every single person told us basically the same thing: "That is not our policy." "Then why did your employee tell me I could do it that way??" "I'm sorry that happened" was all I ever got out of them. We were sent to the billing department, to customer service, and was even told to go to the store where we actually bought the phone to have them "fix it." By then I was beyond ticked. I was pissed off and ready to start screaming into my regular phone. I was not about to drive four miles out of my way, for them to tell me they weren't going to honor it either. So I called them. I am onto you and your games Verizon! Turns out, calling them was the right choice. I was advised to call Financial Services. So I did. And they were very helpful. They were gracious enough to make payment arrangements, so that my service would not be interrupted. How thoughtful. But the fact is, the problem is still not resolved. Our balance is still past due. So thanks Verizon. Thanks for nothing. You suck. Can you hear me now!?

When I call about things like that, I have a standard procedure to fish out who can help me and who can't. I tell them straight that I don't want to waste their time so if they are not the person or dept. that has the authority to fix my problem, get me straight to someone who can.
I wish I could get an iPhone but I hate plans and this type of runaround so I have a pre paid (some call it ghetto) phone!
