Spring Forward and other Random Stuff

Spring Forward!  It sounds so happy, cheery and bright.  I love the longer daylight hours.  I love how it is warm enough to wear capris and short sleeve shirts.  No hating please.  But is it just me, or is the time change knocking everyone on their butts?  I am dragging my feet all day.  It sucks.  And the kids.  Oh my gosh.  The time change has made them cranky a bit unhappy.  I know in some places kids would be going to school in the dark without the change over.  I know I would not get those lovely long days of sunshine without it.  But man, I feel downright jet lagged.

Kristin just completed a major project at school worth 300 points.  It spans across three classes:  Language Arts, Social Studies, and History.  She chose to make a film about the Expedition of Lewis and Clark.  She wrote the script and cast it.  It is just over 7 minutes long.  We filmed it this past weekend.  It was fun.

I ended up with Bronchitis.  What the heck?  I am so much better now.  I got meds, and laid low as much as I could.

I haven't posted in my other two blogs in a long time.  I want to.  But I honestly forget.  I also forgot to do the dishes on Monday night.  Forgot.  I got up to get my meds before bed--because you know the older you get the more drugs you get to take--and there they were.  Mocking me.  Stupid dishes.  Sometimes I wonder what I will be like in 20 years.

How are you handling springing forward?

Oh my kids have been sleeping in beyond belief. We have to shake them awake. They have had a real hard time adjusting. Sounds similar to your experience.

We should just stick to one time and not spring forward and fall back IMO. Then we'd always be used to it!

Other than being really annoyed that Ryder is waking up when it is dark out we somehow all made it through pretty easily. Saturday night we just put everyone to bed 45 minutes early, which we could get away with as it had been a busy day.

Oh don't even get me on my soap box about DST. I think when our society wasn't 24/7, then it saved energy. Nowadays, not so much. So why torture us twice a year? It takes me 2 weeks to get adjusted!

I'm not handling it well. My behind is still dragging today.

I am loving it so much. Basically, the kids sleep in longer, so that makes me happy. I hate that they think they can stay up until it is dark in the summertime. So annoying. I was looking forward to the time change, and we have taken it in stride and are enjoying every second of it. :)

This is seriously the first time I've even notices Daylight Savings. It never has bothered me before, but WOW I am SO tired this time around . . .

It bothered me the first day, but now that I'm back to being asleep and awake at the same times, I'm good again.

It's messed me up. I woke up at 5:30 this morning. That's 4:30 this time last week. NOT COOL. I hate you, daylight savings.

so sleepy from the change in time! this morning I woke up a half hour late. maybe its just the warmer comfy weather or its that I need more sleep! lol. That is so neat that your daughter made a movie and cast it and everything! I'd love to see it! She should put it on youtube!

The first half of the week I was really tired, but now I'm starting to come around and adjust, I think.
