Ramblings
Ramblings...aka "Random Friday's" are just that...random thoughts or ramblings of the mind.
Yeah, I think I need a haircut.
It's finally Friday!!! No homework. I think I get more excited about this than the kids do. And what are our big plans for the weekend? Beyond restoring order to the chaos, I am not sure. Rich works Saturday so there isn't much room for family fun until after 3. But, it's Friday. We usually let the kids stay up a little later than normal. Play the wii or some other game. Sometimes we watch a movie on pay per view.
Reading is good. I love to read. I can literally be whisked away in a book. When I am reading I become part that world. I am the quiet observer who gets to hang out with the main characters. I can shut off the rest of the world and be in my own sweet place. I don't do this for myself anymore. And what's worse, I have done my kids a disservice by not giving them my love of books. There's a lot of negativity about reading around them--mostly at school. I will leave it at that. Both of them struggle with it. The answer of course...READING!! I tried to get them to read. The most I got was reading with Kristin. Not that this is a bad thing. It's good. I just wish they could appreciate it the way I do.
I have to go to the store today. It's my regular day to go. I go with my mom. The clerks know us well enough that when they see one and not the other, it throws them. I don't want to go to the store. I don't have a list made. I want to take a nap instead. Naps are good.
Yesterday I had to bring the garbage bins back from the curb. Why? Because I forgot to tell Rich to do it. And he didn't think of it either. It was raining...pouring actually. I put my raincoat on and braved it. One of the trash bins had been left open by the trash collectors. It had about a foot of water in it. By the time I got back in side...less than 5 minutes...I had to change my shoes, socks, and pants.

I just got my hair cut. I'm still getting used to it, but I like it. It's different.
I don't grocery shop anymore, my husband does it. I can't do 2 carts of food plus one cart of kids.
BTW, I love your occupation: CEO of the house.
And yes I so love getting lost in a book. Not many things better than that.
You can pass it on to your kids. Turn off the TV and the computer...just for a little while and pick up a book.

PS-You are a superstar...inspiration for one of Mama Kat's prompts!
I always leave the garbage bins out until my husband can bring them in. I'm lazy that way, also he's not jumping up to bathe the kids when they're sticky, so it's a trade off. ;)
Thanks for stopping by today.
Until you have to go out in them . . .
